EVERYONE knows the name "White Lightning" will not be used again. The name should stay retired in the Carowinds Museum. Even if they wanted to use "Lightning", it would be "Carolina Lightning", which was the name of a pro soccer team in Charlotte in the early '80's.
Didn't people with connections do some name dropping around here?? Does people not pick up on those things?

This may be slightly off topic but.... Was it actually true that Kinzel said he wanted to make Carowinds the "Cedar Point of the south," and to have his son, Bart, run the chain from the second headquarters in Charlotte after DK retires?

Wouldn't that be awesome? I fear Carowinds is too small however.

I don't recall Mr. Kinzell ever saying that.

What I remember was something to the effect that "Carowinds will be our most Southern park outside of S. California so we are excited about the possibilities this offers for the park".

Also: I was at the park again today and Dora is back in operation. I would post a pic, but it wasn't much to look at. My pic, not Dora.

I too was at the park today, however I didn't go inside. Just a little trip through the parking lot and around the property. I did go by the dirt site behind Cyclone near the employee entrance. I hung my head out of the window of my car and asked the guy on the bulldozer what they were building there and he said more employee parking. Also, when we start seeing track and supports show up I think they will probably put them in the lot next to Thunder Road. If I recall correctly, that is where they put the pieces of Top Gun when they were delivered.

I was at the park this afternoon with my son. Around 3 the rain really started to come down so we decided to leave. As we were walking past the Panda Express, I noticed 2 older gentlemen in shirt & ties with Carowinds nametags on standing under on of the umbrellas. They had a blueprint and were pointing at the mound of dirt.

I casually turned around and walked back. When I looked over their shoulder at the blueprint, there was a layout of a Roller Coaster.

Unfortunately, I was holding my son & it was raining hard or I would have taken a picture.

Wormy you'd better put that stache back on that guy!

Vortex assaults your "man region" not your brain.

Course some guys think only with that, so I see your point.
