Big developements....pics later on. NO shipping containers showed up here, so enough of that story. In the parking lot.......HOLES!! Yes, a truck with a hole digging contraption(similar to a well drilling machine) is in the lot. If you come down from the front gate to the fence in the lot and look down at the south gate, the holes are dug down about half way or so, 2 lines. Looks like we may have footer work starting up. There are also some markers where the trucks drive up into the work area, right behind the Nick Theatre. When I figure out the whole image process, I'll get those up. May do a little photoshopping as well, we'll see.

Sounds like soil testing. They're definitely planning to tear up the parking lot if that's the case.

If I had to guess soil testing was done along time ago. I highly doubt that they would plan to put a coaster somewhere without knowing that the soil wouldn't support it.

Good point. Must be for footers then.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't think there is a Cedar Fair parking lot coaster in existence ... is there?

Disaster Trasport, Dominator, Wild Thang, Steel Venom(VF) I am pretty sure parts of them replaced parking lots. Oh, and Ghostrider has parking spaces on all sides of one of the turnarounds.

When they were building Hard Rock( Freestyle Park), Were the Mine Train (Iron Horse ), They had to drive long, Im talking at least 20 foot long piears into the the ground at every footer. Must have been some crappy Soil.

No no, I mean DIRECTLY on a parking lot like Scream! at SFMM... not one that WAS a parking lot, then got landscaped.

I don't think that's true. I know in the high rise building business they have plans and blueprints for a property well before soil testing is done. Soil testing is usually done right before construction because soil does change over time, especially during rainy seasons (like the one we have been having as of late). Not to mention that they are going to tear up the pavement from the looks of it (go walk around the South Gate and tell me they are going to build on top of that!), and it wouldn't make sense to pour footers to then go back and tear up the pavement.

Ok Fellas, developments, dirt porn, and a few extras

Breakfast of Champions

Little Fuzzy, got excited. Holes that have been dug. If coming from the front gate down to the fence, you can see the holes are dug in 2 lines, about half way to the South Gate. Lines are pretty straight as well.

This is the "ant" diggin' dem holes

As Wes pointed out yesterday, the codes found in the lot match what is glued onto Vortex's supports. Afterburn doesn't have these codes attached.

So I guess your asking, "David, did you see the supports from Kings Dominion on site???)
Image

um, NO. Didn't see them anywhere, not on site. I think it is safe to dispell that rumor now.

Found some markers around where the trucks go into the flume site, just behind the Nick Theatre

And now for you naughty boyz....Dirt Porn

They aren't moving dirt off site, they are digging up and dumping it where the dozer is. Maybe starting to develope the splashdown area??

And for a few extras:
Image
There are 7,854 trash cans in the park and lots.....I counted them
If you believe that, you need to put down the video game controller and get some fresh air

Image
New lemonade/gourmet popcorn stand they finished building today

Image
Image
New dryer at Whitewater Falls and the price.....WTF......Let me save you some money. If you don't like to be wet, don't ride a water ride. Simple as that.

That concludes this update

What exactly is 'gourmet' popcorn? I figure it's regular popcorn but sold at 4x what it normally costs. And $5 for a blow? That's not too bad...I certainly have paid more. That's to get dry, you sickos.

um, I got some from someone at work for a fund raiser. There is a place in Chicago that sells the stuff.....basically what you said, just bump the price up. Give me a box of Crunch n Munch and call it a day. It actually is better to me.
