General Carowinds discussion

It could be a type of pole support (footer) with multiple "branches" coming off of it, used for a helix.

I think they should name it Montezuma or something along those lines would be cool, with a mayan or aztek them!

that would be some neat theming. the train could dive down through a mayan structure or something.

^ I guess it would be a pretty cool theme but I think they're probably going to go with something that will bring in a lot of tourists, like a NASCAR theme.

Or knowing carowinds, they'll put another name with the word "carolina" in it :(

Yeah, probably, but it's not ordinary... the others have only a dot, this one has a circle and 3 dots around it...I'm sure the comment above about the helix is close, if not right on.

Do we expect the new ride to be 4 seats across?

I did my research(from wikipedia, so maybe not 100% accurate, but good enough for me :) ) and all of the B&M hypers except 1 have four seats across.

oh, and by the way, just to show you how stupid i am :D I thought that Diamondback was at Kings Dominion. Just now on Wikipedia I figured out it was King's island (i checked though of course b/c wikipedia isnt always right) anyway...Wow :)

You are going to have to redo your research Diamondback and PCW's hyper have new style trains on them.

oh sorry i thought diamondback was the only one.

But anyway, still, most of B&m's hypers have 4 seats across :)

We will most likely get these special trains as well from B&M... the top two B&M hypers in the world have them (Behemoth and Diamondback). Plus, they are the other two ordered by Cedar Fair, and we are the third and last.

^^ Cedar Fair also owns CW now, so it's not Paramount's anymore.

A chance? Sure, but not likely. Both Behemoth and Diamondback are 230' tall and right about 5300' long, and I would bet that ours will be right about the same. At 230ft. it will be almost twice as tall as any other coaster in the park, and taller than Drop Zone/sky coaster, which will suit our park just fine.

EDIT: I also wouldn't be surprised if we had a similar design to Silver Star. The way the fenced off area runs parallel to the parking lot would suggest that we may see a mirror image of Silver Star. http://www.rcdb.com/ig1414.htm?picture=28

I think it may be a bit taller...
It's going to feel pretty weird with a giant B&M hyper at Carowinds

It's time for a small update:

Image
The flags are becoming little mounds...better shots ahead.

Image
Hey you guys know something! Come back here! OK I won't get so hyper about them going under the bridge.

Image
See, the flags are growing out of the ground!

Image
Dora is running today.

Image
See, the mounds are looking all footerish.

Image
Boulders still waiting to be reused.

Image
Wait, hold the phone.

Image
I think this is totally a false alarm, but this truck did pull into the parking lot by mistake, and then a security guy comes flying up behind him.

Image
I followed him (yeah, I'm a coaster stalker) and he went over across the street from Thunder Road, down one of those side streets and pulled into a complex with a bunch of other semi's. So like I said, I think it's a false alarm. Carowinds has never hidden track that I know of before.

These are those new organic footers that Al Gore was talking about last week.

Wow. They're really concerned about global warming aren't they? Are the tracks going to be made out of rubber tires too? :D
