I don't know if they can get fired over that though. It's considered a breach of contract and the Freedom of Information Act says you can post construction bids online. Simon & Watson could file a lawsuit over that.

Sorry If I Touched some nerves with my comment about paramount. All I was trying to say is that I think Cedar fair will be better for us. not that paramount was all bad. they did give us top gun ( sorry can't get used to that new name ) and borg (again will always call it that ).
But back on subject, I don't care who builds it, as long it gets built. Think we are gonna get a hyper that is very much like Dimondback. I gonna go to kings island on july 10th to 12th. I will let you guys know what I think about dimondback. I was so excited, Have not been to King's Island since 2004, really looking forward to it.

Ha maybe because the GM is the boss' son... hmmm? Besides any company that can run the park without running it into the ground "given the predisposition parks in this region have" is a success. Consider that CF has yet to meet this requirement. Lastly CF has never impressed me with anything, aside from being a miserable company to work for.

My only problem with Paramount was that Carowinds was not placed at the same level of importance as Dominion and Island. Poor little Wonderland was really treated like a step child. I have been around long enough to know that for better or for worst, Kings treated all it's parks fairly equal. Now I'm seeing Fair give all the parks the same level attractions. Check this out; aside from Great America & Wonderland, Fair has given all the former Paramount parks a used filler coaster and a new one.

coasterbruh wrote:its one thing to talk like you are guessing but its one thing to talk like...well you knwo what you are talking about. What proof do you have to back up a claim that if B&M build bigger they would have to "change their design"? Of course taller coasters need stronger supports but you are making it seem like they would have to go back to the drawing board to make a coaster 250ft tall...

It really aggervates me when people talk like they run a company and know what the company will and wont do! The only thing we know for sure that B&M stated they wont do, right now, is a launched coaster and the proof is with hulk. Just like people change their minds B&M can change theirs also if the technology is there. But if its just a height issue im almost quite sure, and its just my opinion, that technology isnt an issue...the only issue would probably a longer chain and lots of money for the coaster!

Notice I said 299 feet tall, not 250 feet tall. It is my opinion. Sorry for stating it the way I did. But, I still believe 100% that B&M won't build to 300 feet in the near future (it would be at least 7 years, IMO. So, a coaster opening in 2017 or 2018 would be the earliest a coaster of 300+ feet would be built by B&M [or even 285-ish feet]). And no, I don't believe it is an issue with technology that's keeping them from building taller. I think it is the way they design their rides. They use minimal supports. If you build taller, you would **theoretically** need more supports in places because the ride would go faster, creating more force. That would increase the need for probably stronger track and stronger supports (and probably more). It is the way they design their rides. I don't see them redesigning their track or supports because it works great the way it is alread. If you look at their rides, they have stayed with what works throughout the year (example: Hulk. Their chain lifts work fine, so they decided not to do the launched hill. They didn't want to get away from what they have proven to work.

Interesting... do you have a direct link to this info?

And I didn't mention this in my last post, but "the dippin dots guy" told me today at the park that they are storing the track off site and "prepping it or something". Take it with a huge grain of salt. And no it wasn't the actual dippin' dots guy.

That's true. They're storing the track in a parking lot up in Batavia, Ohio. The 'prepping' they're doing is the painting and welding  .

Not sure what all the fuss is about. The "2010 coaster" is simply Carowinds' version of the "Backlot Stunt Coaster" that three of the old Paramount parks got a few years back. Only somewhat taller.

See how it all fits...

Kinda scary actually. :?

ha I just booked this thread on my 3gs so I can keep up with it no matter where I am! Some of the mockup pics + immature complaints are making this a win thread.
