SO I REALLY HOPE it goes under the bridge like after burn does. I also hope its UNIQUE so its not compared to another coaster. I hate when they build the same coaster in multiple parks. Not saying this hyper will be the same but I dont even want it to be alike another.

First, Top gun doesnt go under a bridge...it "takes the tunnel"...

Second, name one...I mean ONE coaster that isnt compared to another coaster...

Third, how can this hyper be any different than any other?

Forth...

Naming a few coasters here...
1. The Beast
2. Rock 'N Roller coaster
3. ....Son of beast! :] er, it couldn't be compared to any other coaster BEFORE they took the loop out. Oh well...

For the record there is a B&M Mega coaster that has a tunnel/bridge. Raging Bull at Six Flags Great America was built the year before Goliath at SFMM and features a first drop into a tunnel, which one could argue is a bridge because the exit for Viper walks over top of it.

Two of the rides you named are terrible, and one of them (Rock 'N Roller Coaster) has multiple clones. Personally I just want a great ride. It's a safe bet that it won't be an identical clone of anything, so I'm not sure what more you can ask for.

I will say that looking at the footers close together near that 'white bread bag' building it does appear that it would be the station therefore the way you have this marks makes sense. I hope you are wrong though because it bugs me that we have all of the cleared area on the north side of this assumed station/lift hill area. One thing Carowinds is good at is placing the coasters over the pathways, exits and entrances. This best seen with Cyclone, Afterburn, Cobra and Nighthawk. Assuming that we are not going to get a splash down, or better yet, a bridge flyunder, it would be awesome to get a Bizarro (SFNE) style of 'spaghetti' finish in the clearing area before it heads into the station as opposed to simple bunny hops straight into the station. Therefore the entrance and exits paths would really a part of the ride as opposed to the ride being all in the parking lot. This will be a huge and popular ride. It will have at least two and maybe three trains but despite this, the lines will be long. It just makes sense to have the entrance path wind it's way through the coaster instead of you being in the park and not being able to see anything but the tops of the largest hills. Again, as much as the diagram makes sense, I do hope it is wrong. Not my favorite choice.

Can I ask... what else of a layout that they can do with some work already done? We have no clues or flags other than where log flume used to be and toward south entrance? Personally I would love to see it running across state border, but it ain't happening... unless there are any flags in North Carolina...

Plus that clearing could be for "common area" Such as queue buildings, stores, etc. However it is still possible for a flyover, tunnels (I doubt it, since they would dig for it by now), splashdown, etc in that clearing, it is still too early to tell, but I'm sticking with "common area" for now.

Like I said, the layout does make sense and may very well turn out to be correct as that common area you are referring might also include a new gift shop and/or restaurant or something to that sort. Carowinds is lacking a really intense flat ride and that would be a cool area for that as well but that is a tangent and I will stay away from that. You are more than likely correct, I am just hoping for some coaster in that area somehow. Like you said we will know more when we see more footers being poured and some vertical work.

jordN1414 wrote:you know when the first piece of track arrives this site is going to go crazy. Also the amount of space they have allowed for this coaster is huge I was looking on google maps. (Im saying that in comparison to the other coasters at carowinds) Probably for all the sidewalk for all the lines :). Welcome back to 4 hour waits. Hopefully carowinds will incorporate buildings to wait in line in maybe theme it up a little and is it too much to ask for fast passes or single rider lines? PLEASE

You might have a four hour wait for part of the day on opening day, but that would be it. B&Ms are people eaters. The longest line would be around 1.5 hours and that would be very rarely. Don't even think about theming. The only themeing there will be is landscaping, the outside look of the station, and the sign (those are maybe's). I doubt there will be fast passes, but I'd be willing to bet that there will be a single riders line seeing as how Behemoth and Diamondback had one (and the latter one still does). BUT, the SRL isn't always good. Sometimes, the wait is around a half hour and the regular line has a shorter wait. Also, you can't choose your seat.
