Everything else goes here, including discussion of parks outside of Carowinds and any off-topic discussion

I've been told "Giga thru the woods" by "People Who Know"â„¢, but no one has said anything about Axing Anaconda, so I'm not sure that's even being discussed by the park. They have the room for this coaster, there'd be no need.

Here's the link to KD's 2010 coaster with Intamin listed as the manufacturer...

Duane mentioned to me last week that he will list the Carowinds coaster once track arrives whether there is an official announcement or not...or an announcement, whichever comes first. If track is on site or if he has some sort of conformation through some reliable source, he will often list them before an official park announcement.

Okay, thank you. I will remember that in the future. :D

More track has arrived & more footers are being poured.I don't get why people are still debating wether or not this will be a vertical lift as intamin markets their vertical coaster as a separate product on their website while this project is already confirmed to be a giga.

Word has it on KD's twitter that we should see an announcement on august 20th.

See...someone else agrees with me. Still having misgivings how the layout is gonna look. Always stated that Millennium Force was a thousand feet too short & this attraction could be a thousand feet less than that! Guess they shouldn't have placed Tidal Wave Bay in the way no?

They can always work around WW if they have to...that is assuming that the layout will run all the way over towards hurler.

How are you guys getting 'small footprint'? If this is an Out and Back, then they don't need to make the out/back portion too wide, so they may not have started clearing for that yet. And has anyone noticed any backstage areas that aren't visible to the park that may be ready to clear for a turn around (Maybe like Milly's Island)?

The green shows at LEAST the available area for this coaster. Seriously. Giga. Thru the woods. Over 300. Stop guessing and accept it :).

Clint finally posted a rather nice video update yesterday & more track has arrived, including what looks like the transition from the station to the lift.

Remember this doctored snapshot? That's what we're basing our guesses on. YOUR doctored photograph may show what's "available" for land usage but it seems the portion south of Waterworks that's crisscrossed with dirt roads (Lion Country Safari?) hasn't shown any signs of construction...yet. Would you like a hug now?

I'm not convinced of some MSPaint photo with a supposed layout. Especially since the people I've talked to are quite a bit more reliable.

Saw that at work today. Love the little vid. Wonder if it's real? Not that I doubt that KD is getting what they're getting, I just didn't know if that was done by the park or someone toying around.

This is why I rarely if ever register to forums with a well-established community.

The above aerial photo I came across is fairly archaic by now but displays the comparison on the boundaries of the land cleared a month or so back between the two amusement parks. It's probably safe to say the Kings Dominion construction zone on the right hasn't expanded since then therefore the aforementioned doctored layout has some ring of truth to it still.
