I guess it's the tiniest bit possible since anything is possible... BUT it's not happening.

I've said it before, and will say it again, I think it will be the tallest, fastest, longest, and/or steepest drop on a B&M hyper.

This is the 50th update in this thread!

Before I post any pics I want to give a big thank you to anyone who contributed even one photo thus far. Everyone's effort in documenting construction of this kiddie wavepool/parking garage ( ) has really amazed me and I never really thought that the thread would become this big or this popular, so once again from Jonathan, Max and myself, THANK YOU!

Lets start out by posting a picture that no one has yet.. in this thread at least..
Image

And the overview shot..
Image

There have definitely been trees removed.. here are pics from July 12th and July 24th.. just 12 days apart.
ImageImage

The one large footer, now appears to have some square rebar (I guess?) on top of it.
Image

Cement truck is out today.
Image

Footers for the (likely) lift have sprung up since my last visit.
Image

On the way to Lunch you can't help but notice these new fences.
Image

RIP Trees.
Image

While I was strolling along in front of Season Pass Processing some of the employees were kind enough to keep a door open for a few extra seconds so I could get this amazing picture.
Image

Fake panorama.
ImageImage

The flatness is amazing to me.
Image

Lots of things in this picture I don't even know where to begin.
Image

Down by the parking lot, there is rebar as far as the eye can see.
Image

Rebar art. Rebart. BOOOOOOO.
Image

Going to leave you today with this strange hay formation, I wonder what it is guarding?
Image

Not going to redo my google map picture since I don't think anything has changed. Looking less likely that Picnic Pavilion 3 will be removed though.

My Carowinds - 2009 Flickr Gallery has become too big to even browse casually now (881 pics ) so instead I will link to each date, via the archive function. Perhaps one day Flickr will have some sort of 'Windows style' folder management system, so I can have sub-sets in sets, but I'm not able to do that currently. :(

Thanks for the great picture update! It looks like they're getting more footers ready! The layout still looks like a typical B&M hyper to me, but I guess we'll find out in less than a month if thats true. Hopefully those cement trucks will be out this week and they'll get more footers poured. I dont know if I have missed this somewhere on the forum, but is there an obvious area that they will be staging the track? I havn't seen photos of any fenced off area in a parking lot like at KD or at KI last year.

Nice photo additions. Thanks for keeping us updated.

But has anybody else wondered when the pavment in the parking lot is going to come up? Its starting to look like they are going to just build over it and have a parking lot coaster.

Congrats on the pictures, man. They're awesome.
This may mean nothing at all, but I noticed it right off the bat. Look at the first picture, the announcement sign. Tire marks... I don't know about you, but the first thing I thought when I saw that was: NASCAR. Could it be a clue?

I also didn't realize how much has been done over the past few weeks... it's looking great out there.

Construction vehicles have to get to the log flume site somehow.

yes, the construction vehicles travel all the way from the south gate to the log flume site...

First, they are construction vehicles, they can traverse dirt if the pavement wasn't there, that's what they are built to do. Hell, they already do that in the construction site where the log flume was, and where the pavement has been torn up by wear from these vehicles. Second, why would they build footers to then come back and have to tear up the pavement around them? It would be impractical to hire a crew to meticulously cut around footers that could potentially be damaged, than to have just pulled up the pavement in the first place, then built the footers. Either they are going to put dirt over top of the pavement, or leave it as is. At this point, ripping up the pavement really isn't an option.

I thought that's what they did. Is there a gate somewhere else closer that connects to the open part of the parking lot? :?

Ok, fine. It's going to be a parking lot coaster. Happy?

Actually, I am rather indifferent to the matter. Whether they put grass down or leave it as pavement doesn't really enhance/detract from the experience, in my opinion. I wish they could have left more trees in and around the log flume site.
