Hell, they already do that in the construction site where the log flume was, and where the pavement has been torn up by wear from these vehicles. Second, why would they build footers to then come back and have to tear up the pavement around them? It would be impractical to hire a crew to meticulously cut around footers that could potentially be damaged, than to have just pulled up the pavement in the first place, then built the footers. Either they are going to put dirt over top of the pavement, or leave it as is. At this point, ripping up the pavement really isn't an option.

They will likely just cover up the pavement with dirt and plant shrubbery around in areas.... they have a mountain of dirt they hauled out somewhere... just as easy to haul in back when just about finished! :)

On second thought.... a NASCAR themed Coaster could really benefit from the pavement being there... and some older Nascar cars put around the track over the Pavement.. along with other Nascar themeing... to make it look good. The pavement can be made to look like a Nascar track.... possible......

Did you guys hear that sound?? It was the CF brass hitting themselves in the head and saying "why didn't we think of that?? Get those plans updated, we may not look so dumb afterall. The parking lot made to look like a track, for a racing themed coaster, BRILLIANT!!"

I hope you got a patent on that idea Tink.

Maybe they got a bunch of all the "Days of Thunder" cars and stuff left over from when it was in the action theatre. Doesn't everyone remember seeing all the cars in the line. They still have the concrete circles where the cars used to sit.

Reality Check. As much as I love the idea, we are talking about Cedar Fair... :|

Nascar themeing would be nice........ if you have ever been to the Sahara in Vegas, they have a LOT of Nascar themeing at the Nascar Cafe and Speed the Ride (Roller-Coaster!)...
so, you see, I kinda cheated.... seen it before, and it's nice.....

Thanks for the kudos from the other people here..... :)

I guess I need to go to the park tomorrow...

From TPR
Just got back from the park and by the Carowinds sign and sky tower there is a box that has many teasers . The crate reads a few interesting things like IZ 12 E nuff" (12E is someone at Carowinds a Cedar Point fanboy O_O) and on the side it has "Lightning really does strike twice" , all letters are in white on the silver crate backing and it revv's and makes car noises. It also states "Do not open till spring 2010". Theres also a shipping label "bull dog shipping" with "thinking Big really Big" listed. The box lists MorganTown West Virginia, 26505. Under it , the listing says "item #44".

I think we have an in park teaser like the box we had before Cobra.

I will upload a pic from my friends phone When he gets home later tonight.

I saw the box today on my way to lost and found. And it definately was not making car noises, it sounded more like a panther, or some kind of cat. Or probably thunder. Either way, the sound was way too low pitched to be a car.

I just thought of something.

The Sprint All Star Race is in Charlotte (well, Concord) on Sat, May 22, 2010. Also, the Coca Cola 600 (and the events surrounding it) are May 28 - May 31, 2010.

Any chance the opening of the ride happens on one of those two days?
