General Carowinds discussion

I’ve heard from a VERY reliable source that they are going to have 57 trains (30 inverted/15 floorless/10 millennium flyers/1 replication of Thomas the Tank®/1 light rail train from the LYNX blue line) that are going to be able to run all at once! They are actually tearing down the rest of the park just to build the station, as for the coaster it will loop through the Hearst building over Bank of America, and the mcbr will be somewhere in the vicinity of the stadium. Glad I got that off my chest.

Duly noted

Its more than likely 2 trains if no mcbr and 3 trains if there is a mcbr. You cant just "look" at another coaster to see how many another will have.

My preference would be three trains of course, but I know that Carowinds doesn't quite do the business that places like SFOG do, or at least on a Sunday afternoon it's never as crazy as it was down there a week ago Sunday and they needed a 3rd train on Goliath!

Maybe the park is looking to the future and will put the money in it for a 3rd train.

The amount of land this thing is using though, seems pretty large to only be a 2 train operation. But I'd probably have said the same thing about Goliath before seeing the layout.

And I think Behemoth has a mcbr, so I'm thinking that's the setup will be for this one if I had to guess layouts.

I would actually prefer the 2 train - no MCBR style because that means we are way less likely to be trimmed as we go around the course. Trims + MCBR = lame ride compared to a wide open machine like Goliath.

Cedar Fair are big on capacity, unlike Paramount.

It really bugs me when people say stupid things like this...

Not all coasters can run more than 2 trains. What coaster at carowinds actually needs more than 2 trains other than rochoet? Yeah throw an extra train on top burn (which is a 32 seater) The amount of trains is determine by the amount of blocks on the coaster...

And by the way most hyper trains seat 36...so why could cedar fair go for less seats since the obviously care about capacity unlike the nazis at paramount...

Guys I'm aware there are trims on Goliath but on my ride I couldn't feel them, unlike other rides where they are noticeable. Should have been clearer. Also, I know trims have no bearing on the decision to include an MCBR, but I DO know that rides will trim a train conditionally when there are 3 on the tracks as opposed to 2 to keep all of them in line (see certain Mad Mouse style coasters). I'm simply saying that a trimless MCBR'less ride would be better than a 3 trainer with trims and an MCBR that ruins the second half like many have noted on Diamondback.

Well I went there yesterday, it was very interesting. Nothing was really different in construction. However teasers are up all over the place. The main carowinds sign on carowinds blvd. said Record Breaking. History Making. 8/26/09.

The " Wouldn't you like to know?" and " Carowinds is building for a better future." signs have removed. There like 20 holes that have been drilled into the fence so people can look.

The banners are on the fence now.

I also have very good pictures of the crate. They are going to need a new stage for C3
