^Back in the 90's I knew someone that worked for D&E with Paramount. He was the one that actually picked the color scheme for the Carolina Cyclone in 1998 --> http://www.carowindsearlyyears.com/cyclone_1998.jpg which I honestly wasn't a huge fan of.

Anyway, I do not know who picks the color schemes for CF projects. I am sure they have their own Design & Engineering Dept. A Red track and yellow supports just goes to show how unoriginal these people think. That color scheme is just plain ugly to me. I would rather see silver supports with the red track personally. No coaster at Carowinds has silver supports.

Jonathan wrote:I think the red and yellow scheme looks pretty good, but I have to admit I was kind of hoping for red and silver (and not just because I designed the site that way!).

I agree, my hope was for red and silver also. That would look awesome.

Let me just say that the administrator for http://www.kiextreme.com didn't personally go to the factory and hasn't seen pics, so this is all hearsay at this point. I know this because I talked with him, as we are good friends. I will remain very skeptical until I see pics (with the label), supports arrive at Carowinds, or the park makes an announcement themselves.

EDIT:

I was browsing some of my pictures of Behemoth and Diamondback and noticed some interesting connections.

On Diamondback the transfer area supports are the same color as the non-lift supports for the rest of the ride.

On Behemoth the transfer area supports are orange, which are the same colors as the ties, top of the spine and underside of the spine.

Safe to say that silver will be a largely involved color for our new ride. :)

Well, it's time someone did an update instead of worrying about breaks and invertions.

Image
First up, I can't resist this after seeing this today... WASHING MACHINES UNDER THE BRIDGE!

OK, I'll put that joke to rest, until I think of another HUTB joke. But next year we'll really have to put it to rest.

Image

Dirt porn daytime. But wait, night is coming!

Image
The footers ma'am, just the footers.

Image
Did anyone figure out what this is?

Image
In the shadow of the...Sky tower.

Image
If the window wasn't so cloudy you'd easily see that red B&M track peaking over at us from behind Thunder Road.

Image
And what are we digging here?

Image
Hmmm.. Jarvis must be making an appearance.

Image
I almost forgot about taking some perfectly legal pictures of track!

Image
Still only 6 pieces out there so far. I like this view a lot more than last year and that certain blue track that was out there.

Image
And now for DIRT PORN IN THE DARK!!! Here we see one of the Decepticons dropped by the park to destroy the footers.

Image
Look! They finished the station today!

Image
Cue any Blair Witch joke you can think of.

Image
And a few random updates: my car has arrived.

Image
Apparently you can come in the first time without a shirt, but you need one to come back in.

Image
75% OFF!!!! GET OUT OF MY WAY YOU STINKIN' KIDS!!!

Image
This would be such a nice shot with the moon and all if it weren't for that stinkin' trash can!

Image
Looks kinda Haunted Mansionish at night, no?

And that's all for now peeps. Ride On!

Ok, this is about Kings Dominion but bear with me as I think there's a connection.

KDFansite.com's admin Clint Novak recieved his invitation to KD's media day event. In the invitation it teases about their new coaster. Aside from the generic teasers there was one very interesting detail: the invitation was shaped like a race car; a race car with the number 15 on it.

Perhaps our sister's new ride is more closely related to ours than we've thought?
