Yep, it's really weird. My invite is identical to the one Lance on Screamscape got, except mine only says copyright 2009 Cedar Fair LP. Nothing about DEI.

Didnt KD have a very similar invite? Maybe this was a template distributed by Cedar Fair marketing and someone realized at the last minute that Carowinds should or should not have the DEI reference. Assuming Lance received his yesterday (as stated) then he has a more recent version of the invite.

Maybe the deal was signed late in the game? While there is a chance that White Lightning was never even considered at all and it was all a big hoax, my suspicion is that Intimidator and White Lightning have both been in the bag all alone, with White Lightning being the fall back if a deal could not be reached with DEI.

I would be curious to know if White Lightning was KD's alternative as well. I thought it was a little ridiculous at the time (when 10 pages were spent talking about it), but maybe this justifies the upside down Millennium Force logo on http://www.whytelightning.com/

Well from what I know the Lt Gov of SC aundre bauer is gonna be there...Sanford had an emergency trip to Argentina for some reason. But it doesnt say anything about anyone from DEI.

I know that overhead lapbars were a big (bad) deal with KD fans, and B&M doesn't use those on anything. Do you think they will do NASCAR-themed trains, though?

The thing I see about B&M trains they are very versatile. they can be themed as dragons, zepplins, have an awesome light scheme...the list goes on and on.

Perhaps "Lightning really does strike twice" could also refer to both parks getting a coaster called Intimidator. Though I think White Lightning as the backup incase they couldn't get the DEI thing to go through makes a lot of sense (or perhaps they planned on making ours different and got a deal to do both). Anyway, why are we still speculating? Tomorrow, all will be revealed!! (Yay for not having any morning classes tomorrow!!)

I said it on kdfansite and i'll say it here too. Whoever put up that webcam at KD should be fired. I think a monkey could put up a better one than that. You can't see the whole site and trees are blocking part of the image. At KI during Diamondback construction, they had multiple webcams running. I don't understand why they couldn't do the same at KD.
