On a side note, I think it's important for everyone to weight your best wishes against what most likely will be revealed tomorrow. We know Carowinds is getting a B&M coaster. We hope it's a Hyper. But beyond that it gets even more speculative. Just to be safe from disappointment, I suggest not to get too carried away with details. I know what I hope it's going to be, but a side of me fully expects it to be a La Ronde Goliath-esque B&M. Maybe not even 200'. Or maybe just a tick over 200'. But I don't expect anything topping out at 230' or more at Carowinds. If it happens I'll be surprised and very pleased. Still, any recent B&M Hyper has been an airtime generator and that alone sould make it the parks best coaster to date.

KD's ride came in at 5 feet above the minimum height to be giga and was shorter than hoped for by many.
this may do the same, 5 feet above 200 or something like that.
They do have to leave room for another future coaster slightly bigger than this in a number of years. Doubt we'll be getting a 300 footer anytime soon, so a 200 footer (+/- 25 or 30 feet) leaves them a lot of room for another hyper someday and still a record breaker for Carowinds. Guess I'm going to have to get a platinum pass to do both KD and Carowinds next year.

Oh, I am dead serious. I mean, don't YOU want to jolt your tanning routine with an invigorating and sizzling vivid hot tingle experience?! I'm sure they'll be able to get at least $30-40 a bottle. Plus, picture the t-shirts, baseball caps, mugs, mouse pads, key chains, potholders...the merchandising possibilities are simply endless.

What sense does it make to set expectations low and hope for the best...Thats like going from one extreme to the next.

Im expecting something great and it BETTER be the best!

And were is this theme park manual stating they cant build a coaster too high because they have to build another coaster higher...

Parks get coasters of varying heights all the time...I swear tomorrow cannot come soon enough!

I said it on kdfansite and i'll say it here too. Whoever put up that webcam at KD should be fired. I think a monkey could put up a better one than that. You can't see the whole site and trees are blocking part of the image. At KI during Diamondback construction, they had multiple webcams running. I don't understand why they couldn't do the same at KD.

For the record, KI only had 1 webcam. It was programed to change positions every so often, which is why it wasnt a constant stream but instead the website refreshed the image every so many seconds. But I agreed, KD's webcam is terrible. Hopefully they'll change it soon.

Stirring the pot a bit. John Force (the really loud yet legendary drag racing guy) is in Charlotte today. Could it be a generic racing theme instead of DEI only?

it doesnt have to be a giga to be fun, all B&M would have to do is design it without a brake run in the middle of it. I think I would want that over a few extra feet in height.

He's in town to promote the drag races coming up later this year at the ZMax drag strip in Concord, and because of the success of that series, the NHRA has added a second event in Concord starting in 2010. It's all on the local news right now.
