As someone who has only ridden 2 B&M hypers (so far... ) I am curious as to what you (and others?) may see as the cons for this ride, in addition to the pros, which are obviously many.
note to all: not attacking, just asking...I don't think it is possible to really put a damper on the enthusiasm here anyhow!

Looks really awesome. My first thought is this will be my #1. Hopefully I'll be riding both of the Intimidator's (unless CP decides to call theres Intimidator :/) next year so I can see which is better. I wish there was a Chevy and a 3 on these trains though.

The only con I see is the "second half" beyond the mid-trim brake is a little underwhelming relative to what came before it. I think a bit more between the mid-trim and the final brake would be nice. But that's being ULTRA picky. Overall Carowinds hit this one out of the park. Cedar Fair claimed Carowinds has the most potential, I can only think now they mean it and this ride marks the beginning of a world class make-over for the park.

The announcement event was great today, and the new coaster looks great. It will definatly be a favorite of mine once it is built.
But according to one of the upper management of the park we can expect steel and vertical construction next week.

It's called marketing. Cedar Fair defines Kings Dominion as the Mid-Atlantic and Carowinds as the Southeast. Therefore both parks can build record breakers.

Virginia is not included as Southeast, even in ACE it is part of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Wow! Just got back home from Carowinds. What a day!

2nd half could use another hill, but that's about it. It's not a big deal, really, as afaik it's the only inclined helix on a B&M hyper (maybe any B&M ), which does differentiate it and oh MY God, that second drop looks really sweet. It'll cancel out, I'm sure.

I can't wait for opening day 2010 for the two Intimidators!!! But first, two quarters of grad school.

Actually it is a Commonwealth.

I am very pleased with our new Intimidator. The second drop/turn, the turn around and the dive helix, as stated before, are going to make this coaster stand out. Since I will be unemployed after September 10th of this year I wonder if I can break the 1000 rides in a season. But. with so many new rides looks like an all pass for 2010 for me.

Everything is just as I expected , and it looks great! I really think the ride and the area will be great. This ride will defiantly be the best in the park. I've been dying to get a air machine here. Looking forward to opening day!

Still totally blown away. Every thing about this project - the ride, the website, the surprises - has been top-notch. This beauty should really do us proud. Big thanks to the park staff for pulling this off.

I can't express how glad I am to see the old Cobra cam back in action. Carolina Skytower, you've served us well. I may have to ride the old girl a time or two before the season ends to let her know I haven't forgotten about her.

Thanks to everyone else whose cameras kept us all updated. It was addictive, right?

I would also like to commend the restraint of those who have remained tightlipped about the leaked plans several months back. You know who you are.

Enough of the mushy gushy crap. Years and six months of INTENSE speculation down, six months of waiting to go. Yes Swampfox, I can STAND it!
