General Carowinds discussion

Of course I think with Diamondback, they were building the station while still setting footers, which might not be the case with this coaster. Carowinds seems to be about done with the footer work. I guess King Island took more time to set footers because of the rugged terrain. I wonder if they use separate crews to erect the track and do the meticulous work related to the stations?

Hendrick will do all the steel construction. Another company does the electrical, another does plumbing (if there is any needed to be done; I'm not sure if there is a snack place or anything), another does painting, another does the concrete work, etc.

Also, does anyone have a count on how many pieces have been installed?

Looks Like they are putting up the supports and beams for the train transfer area. Im gessing theat they are going to do the rest of the brake run(including the slanted part) as fast as they can because those sections will require work to get all of the mechanics working.

I was really hoping this thread wouldn't turn into a "webcam play by play" thread. I understand for the first few pieces, but this is is a very long coaster and every time a new track piece is being put in we don't need a "HEY A NEW SECTION OF TRACK IS BEING PUT IN!!11"

Anyway for the Facebook handicapped (even though it is free and you aren't forced to use it or any of its features...)
