General Carowinds discussion

Forgive me if this has already been told. I dont have the time to read post after post. My informant has told me that the construction crew are not happy because they do not have the parts they need right now. I hope they have other things they can do to stay ahead of schedule. If this is the parks mistake or not is up in the air to me. I would say its not the parks fault.

Why do you keep talking about 'your informant' as if it's some secret agent?? it's probably just you making up different theories about what you thinks going to happen. :] just saying.....that's what it looks like.

On a different note, I will be going Sunday as well, and then again on Monday. Do you guys need me to look for anything? I can take pictures if you need me to. please let me know.

You dont have the time to go back a few pages and read post but you want someone to read your post? Think I have to add you to that block/ignore list since you dont have the courtesy of reading what others have to say. But anyway tell your "informant" before they come out with such a statement have some credible evidence to support it...How can anyone say they are on/behind schedule without seeing a "game plan", time line for the construction? Hell, I can say they are 4 days ahead then say 7 days behind...am I credible without any real meat to support that claim? Tell your informant to stick to "would you like fries with that"...

Who is your informant? Your cousins dad's brother? I'm tired of reading posts like yours. And yes please take pics billcollins531. Thanks. :)

I mean, it takes a while to get all of the coats of paint on one piece of track or supports, let alone an entire coaster worth. If there are still many pieces to be painted, then don't expect to much more progress to be made in the next couple weeks.

You are talking like it takes a month to paint a piece of track. I doubt it takes more than, say, a week or 2...

Well, I'd say a week or two to get an entire piece done. In those two weeks, they could probably get maybe 20 completely done. If there are 120 pieces, that is 12 weeks to get all of the painting done. That is quite a bit of time considering half the coaster should be up within three months.

I wanna make sure that I, and those that are reading, understand. You are saying it will take an entire week or 2 to paint one, say 20ft long piece of track...then you say they could get 20 pieces done in 2 weeks...averaging out more than 1 piece a day...

So how can you say it will take a week or 2 to paint once piece of track but then say it can take a less than a day to paint the same said track piece...

Is anyone else as confused as me?

While your post doesn't make sense thank you for not attacking unlike others on here. For the ones that went on attack mode like they always do.....Informant is the correct term. I never sayed that I was told they were behind schedule only that I hope they can stay ahead. I also never sayed you had to believe me so block me all you want I will return the favor. I have never posted any information on here that was not true and I do not plan to start. The information I post on here is for the people who choose to trust my words.

So they are people who trust you and you go and post what they tell you on here. I hope you can see what I am seeing here. And please recall that you really need to have a tuff skin to be an active member of this board so do not take anything personal.

Didn't SFoG use the "Put the pedal to the medal" tag line for Goliath? I can't remember, but that seems vaguely familiar...

First off, I said 20 because I didn't want to get yelled at for saying too few. Let me try to explain this differently.

Let's say that to get all of the coats of paint on a piece of track, it takes a total of just one week because of the drying period between coats and the actually taking time to paint. They would paint one day, let it dry the next, paint it, let it dry, and then paint and let it dry one final time, but for two days. That is 7 days, or one week. Also, we'll say they could work on 10 pieces in one day (they could have 2 painting areas, and work on one piece every hour and a half, thus getting five pieces worked on in each area, and a total of 10 pieces in a day). But, while those pieces are drying every other day, there are 10 other pieces that get worked on during that day. So, they could be working on 20 different pieces during the week. That would allow them to paint 20 pieces of track in a little over a week.

In my opinion, I have overestimated the number of pieces that can be done at one time, and I think it takes closer to two weeks to get all of the coats of paint done. But, I said it only takes a week and 20 pieces just so it would be easier to understand. Also, it just helps prove my point that it takes a long time to get all of the track for a coaster painted.

I hope this makes more sense. In short terms, thay can paint more than one piece of track at once, so even if they get say even 10 pieces done in a week, it still takes more than a day to get an entire piece done.

Does this help you understand a little better?
