"Not the stairs people creep up while waiting in line. The stairs that stretch about 11 stories high. The ones made of see-through metal grates where the wind blows high above Interstate 77, and the planes fly low.

But as the dawn sky fades from black to gray then blue, there's Bobby Nivens, racing up those stairs, crossing a catwalk and bounding back down.

"I don't pay any attention to the height," said Nivens, 48, standing beneath the 113-foot peak. "It's pretty up there to look around." "

Carowinds.com as of late 2000, the TG:TJC page:
"Highest Peak 113 feet"

Word of advise for newbies, When The NUT knows he is right, he will go to ANY lengths to prove it. I dug through 13 pages of Google News Searchs, and atleast 10 pages from Wayback Machine.

Does it really matter what the tallest ride in the park is? The intimidator is going to be the tallest once the lift is fully constructed. The heights on the coasters really don't matter because they are still fun... Facts are nice, but do we really have to sit here and post 2 pages of off topic crap, including this crap I am typing? Really, lets please get this back on topic... The ride's lift being constructed right now looks pretty tall. I would say maybe 75 feet or a little less at the moment. I've been checking the web cam for the last two days. Not much movement...

^hmm.. Not sure it will be done in the next few days, but it will in the next few weeks :P . I'm glad they moved it. They'll probably move it as they construct the ride. I wish there were multiple web cams scattered across the site like they have for DB at KI..

I spoke with the marketing director Saturday night at scarowinds, and he said they expect the lift hill to be topped off by the end of the week. But i dont know whether or not that includes the chain and full completion of the lift.

Wormy, I know you do a lot for us already and I really hate to ask for anything else but it's raining in Charlotte today and the webcam has water drops on the lens. Could you run out to the park and wipe the lens off, I'm having trouble seeing? Oh and thanks for tilting the camera up so that we can now see the top of the lift hill when it is completed. You're the man! BTW, went to the fair in Winston yesterday and rode the frisbee ride several times. God I wish Carowinds would install a giant Frisbee like the one at King Islands. Those things are so sweeeeet.

Dixie Classic Fair has a frisbee?! Since when? Growing up in Winston-Salem, I barely remember the Gravitron, but nothing as fancy as a frisbee. But, YES PLEASE, for a giant frisbee at Carowinds!

Looks like the workers have taken the day off due to the rain? I usually see some activity by 10 AM.

James E Strates Shows has a Huss Frisbee and a Top Spin. If I recall correctly their Top Spin is only one of only two portable versions ever produced, so it is very special, the other is in Germany, I think. This is why you won't find one now at the State Fair, since they booted Strates Shows out. Carowinds could use a Giant Top Spin as well, i think we are now the only former Parapark without one. Fireball is the Frisbee at the fair and is the most popular ride, long line. It is designed differently from the Giant version. Ok, now back to the coaster construction discussion on a rainy day.

Oops, Fireball is not a Huss Frisbee, it is a KMG Afterburner, my bad.
