General Carowinds discussion

I would assume they would try to stay ahead of the game, this way in the event of bad weather they will not fall behind... and of course as we saw last night they stay over to make sure they stay on schedule I assume... Cant wait to see the top of that lift put into place.... The whole drop should be done by the end of next week... :D

Mr.Nitro wrote:Uh.. no top gun wasn't enough. We are talkin 1999, it takes more than one good coaster to make a park. Look at what other places had in 99, we were really getting lame rides at the precise time other parks were getting killer things.

Killer things like dominator, X-Flight...that really kept the park afloat... but I must resist...

Im starting to wonder if the coaster will be testing by christmas...

Its amazing how no one is allowed to have a different opinion than yours. IMO its ridiculous that a woodie like the beast was built in 79 and over 15 years later the best we could get was Hurler. If that satisfies you then fine. Ive been to plenty of parks and for the most part they are better than Carowinds. Either you don't go to better theme parks or you are very easily pleased. Loch Ness Monster for instance is a fantastic landscape coaster and a LONG ride time as well and was built BEFORE Cyclone. that sickens me. Whatever floats your boat there "bruh" Also its not to say I don't love Carowinds bc I obviously do, it's just dumb for me to get shot down bc I said I'm happy we are finally getting a competitive coaster and that we have all been patient.

If thats what you wanna think...and fear

yep...Carowinds had 30+acres just sitting around doing nothing and missed out on the chance to build the best woody in the world!

Sorry I dont carry a banner of how many parks I have been to...

Yeah again, Carowinds didnt take advantage of that awesome landscape they have and those deep ravines and make cyclone better than what it was. I guess that model wasnt as successful as as loch ness's model since only about 10 coasters followed that same layout vs the...one other coaster that followed loch ness's model...and IT WAS DEMOLISHED!

I just think its funny when people forget the history of a park and think everything the park currently has couldnt have been groundbreaking in its hayday. Eventually some people are gonna thing intimidator wont be a "competitive coaster" in years to come...I mean thunder road was a record holder when it open as well as the "lame cause carowinds didnt take advantage of loch ness layout" cyclone was like one of the first, if not the first, coaster to flip upside 4 times...

Thats what I have a problem with!

Anyway...I see they moved dora's train...I wonder why that was...

And since we are on the subject of intimidator (we are still talking about that right lol) does anyone have any insight in how the chain lift is installed?

I agree, it was all good until Paramount came along and relegated us to step park status. Volcano was ground breaking, FOF was ground breaking, Hypersonic was ground breaking, the Gyro drops were ground breaking, Stealth was ground breaking, the giant Top Spin was ground breaking, the giant Frisbee was ground breaking,...SOB, record water slide. How many of those did Carowinds get, ZERO! (Nobody better not dare mention Borg either) Hurler and Top Gun were ok but hardly ground breaking. Ok, ok, there was Saturator, if you liked walking around the park with soggy shoes for the rest of the day.

That right there is my point exactly. I don't want to hear coasterbruh's excuses about lack of space etc etc. or what was good for its time. Cyclone was the first coaster to go upside down 4 times yes. There is no reason given the HUGE amount of space the Hurler's "***" takes up that it couldn't have been something bigger, better or themed and why we have one flat to really shout about. You can say what you want but Carowinds could be alot further along then it is now if it was treated as an equal park to the other Paramount parks. Carowinds as a whole is a severely dated theme park. For starters we need some new flats.

Complaining about Paramount is going to change whats in the past. I'm sure there are lots of factors on why different parks get different rides. If you did not like Paramount just be glad the don't own the park anymore. I'm tired of hearing about it because last time I checked Cedar Fair owns Carowinds.

To post something actually about "Official Intimidator Construction Thread":
I'm sad they didn't top it off today. :(
I'm going to Scarowinds tonight.

Which is why things are hopefully about to get better. Off to a great start with Intimidator. Thank the "bruh" for picking a fight. Anyway I'm done talking about that, I think things will really start heading in a great direction and bring more people/rides/revenue.

I think its so it doesn't block the path to Final Summons.

Oh thanks, that makes sense...

Here I am thinking it was because it is "severely dated " !

No

Wrong. They put up the largest lift hill support yesterday after 5:00pm. In fact they didn't finish until 7:30pm.
