Ken, I remember when you were our Wormy 10 years ago with your Top Gun construction page. I just wanted to say that to let you know we have not forgotten.

I could be wrong here, but I think you have the wrong Ken, and swampfox43 is who you are referring to.

Oh, so Swampfox is the Ken from years ago? Ken Burnes maybe is the name? I'm going way, way, back to my Ultimate
Rollercoaster days. That site is a mere shadow of what it use to be.

Did the get the first piece of the curved track up yet on the second hill? I saw them put the supports up but the webcam's too dark and too poorly angled for me to tell. I'm too lazy to go up there to see for myself, and I'd rather not have to wait for Wormy to put up a picture for me to find out. Haha.

EDIT: Really off topic. Get back to Timmy.

I know its off topic but the only reason I ask is because some people have been complaining and I have been asked not to do it any more. But don't worry... lol

I believe so. If you looks really closely at the webcam, it appears there is the support that goes out to the right (left in the following picture), and then another support behind it (which should just be a single straight up support). That support should hold some of the banking on the curve.

^ and ^^: After you both said that, I looked closer, and what do you know, I can spot a little sliver of red track banking and curving downward. Thanks much. I'm monitoring this thing like it's my job. Haha

To clear up any confusion - Swampfox is the Ken with the Top Gun pics, the Carowinds' Early Years site, and all the historical knowledge.

I'm the "other" Ken, who posts the occasional picture and writes longer-than-necessary posts. :D

Yep, that's me. I did Top Gun, Super Saturator and Borg construction pages.

Wormy (and a few others) have done a wonderful job of keeping us all up to date on a daily basis. It reminds me often of those days in 1998-99, snapping those TG construction photos every day (I live a few miles from the park), rushing to the 1 hour photo lab, then rushing home to scan them into the computer. Wheww! Quite a task back then. So much easier in today's digital world..

The coaster we have all been waiting for is suddenly a reality. It's finally here and it's looking sweeter by the day. Keep up the awesome work Wormy (and others).

Ken Rutherford (not Burnes  )

Am I the only one who would love to see an empty train going up that lift right now and flying off that 2nd hill into the parking lot? :)

I have thought the same thing. That is why we have Roller Coaster Tycoon to have such disturbing fun
