I just notice that this coaster is very loud..i mean if you watched the video everybody has to be about a couple 100-1000 feet away from this ride..So it has to be as loud as Afterburn or even louder.!!

Folks... this was a test run. Most of what you saw will change by opening day. SoGo had the same thing happen to it when it first test run. It went really fast (faster than normal), it was really loud, etc...

They will tweak things before it opens. If it's too fast, they'll hit the mid-course a bit... if it's still too fast, the trims will kick on. If it's too loud they'll change the wheels out to nylon instead of polyester (or vice versa). Goliath at SFoG had all of this happen to it before opening. The first test run was INSANELY fast and LOUD as hell... Six Flags replaced some (if not all) the wheels with a softer wheel to slow it down some and dampen the noise as much as possible.

As afr as the timing, the 3:33 thing seems like marketing to me to play off of Dale E.'s racing number. If indeed it turns out to be this (or close) I'll be surprised. I believe the timing starts at dispatch and goes to restraint release without any blocking.

I truely love the loud roar of a B&M. When I was younger and was standing in line for the Vortex, I had such a fear in the pit of my stomach just from the noise. I think it really adds to the excitment of a midway. The roar will fit in perfect with the race car theme. Just as it does with Afterburn.

So Dani, would it be allowed to get a POV recording done on opening day. It'd be great for commercial purposes, just sayin. I remember the commercials for Carolina Cobra and it was a combination of other roller coasters at other parks similar to cobra. And that started airing before opening day. But I doubt that landscaping, preparations, and the such would be ready before opening day to get commercial footage. A POV would practically sell itself for this ride. I know in the past y'all have hired people or asked for volunteers to be filmed for commercial footage purposes.

duh...so does the video on the coaster site...DUH! What I should have said was what would a live pov show that the animated version doesn't. And really, who uses "duh"...

Geesh the park does 2 initial test and now some of you (generally the fanboys with the version of "intimidator" in your name) want the world! Whats the next want, want to know how the water dummies liked the experience...

QUit asking for crap like the park didnt ever think about "gee, should we get a live pov for this coaster". This is just their what, 13-14th coaster so im sure they have all their plans in order...give it time!

This coaster is taking FOREVER to build Jarvis. Don't deny it.

I guess there is one good thing about all the annoying crap on the boards these days: there are a lot of people interested in the park that haven't been in years/if ever.

It seems the general feeling on the East Coast boards is that Carowinds is opening the best new coaster of 2010, and that's a pretty amazing feat if you think about all the things going on in both the economy locally and nationally.

So I for one am very grateful to have Intimidator, and as Forrest would say: that's all I'm gonna say about that.
