Are they testing on Saturdays? I need to run over to Heroes Aren't Hard to Find on Saturday and thought about going by the park if they are.

Don't complain about the prices of drinks, etc. at the park. Go to a concert at Verizon and pay their prices there. You'll be thankful for the prices at Carowinds. A 22oz can of Budlight was 11 bucks! The Bojangles combo I got was 18.

From leaving the station to a complete stop in the station the ride time is 2 minutes and 57 seconds.

I wonder how many people have actually ridden it so far. I know officially it's zero because the state has to sign off or something but I KNOW that some sort of B&M rep, or either of them personally, or some park official has gotten a lap or 2 in. If not, I'm amazed by their self control. If I designed one of these things I'd be strapped into the first train covered by nightfall, away from the prying eyes of the state.


Those ops are going to have to haul *** to meet the interval being shown on the webcam.

They've tested the last two Sundays. Still have yet to see them test on Saturday, but that could be due to the lovely weather we've been having.

I keep forgetting to listen for that clicking noise when I'm there, but I can't see anything on the track that would cause it. Then again, I may need glasses.

It's been a blast photographing this project. Thanks to Jay for starting this thread, and the other one. Looking forward to next month and passing the torch back to ….. everybody!

We have free water at our restaurants and kiosks And purchasing the Season Pass cup is the best deal you can get on drinks--very reasonable costs for refills. Yes, there will be TV's showing Dale footage in the queues.

I'm curious, in my past experience, water is offered in very tiny cups. Any reason as to why we can't have larger cups of water? It seems wasteful, inefficient if we stack up on 5+ cups and throw them all away. Summers get very hot!

I suppose there are water fountains everywhere.

The "shot glasses" of water from last year were a bit hilarious, considering it took 4-5 for even a skinny guy like myself to get hydrated during Coaster Stock, but I guess the park understands the economics of the situation there.

EDIT: What they might not be understanding is the time it takes for their employees to answer my water request multiple times on a busy day, at the expense of other people waiting. Or am I the only person who needs more than a shot of water on a really hot day? At least we get free water at all though < just playing Devil's advocate a bit here.

The difference between the Braves and Verizon, is that you are not walking around in the hot sun all day and can easily sit through a game or concert with requiring a drink. You cant do that at carowinds, you have to get a drink or you will pass out from the heat. They basically have you over a barrel, and as far as water goes, your kids would laugh in your face if you suggested that. I'm not talking about dropping the price of all the food etc, just the bottle soda vending machines. Theres no sense in a 20 oz bottle of soda costing $2.50 more than the gas station beside the park.

In that case, it would make more sense to have some folks stationed at water coolers around the park to help out and keep folks out of the regular lines.

Yeah even from way up top where the webcam is it looks beautiful. im really excited to see it in person now. Although I am a lil confused as to why the keep using the digger up by Gr8 Sk8...doesnt look like its really doing anything
