General Carowinds discussion

There is a huge area they shoukd put another one of those race tracks (remote control cars) in that area, it would fit well with the theme. Anyone remember when they had the remote control cars over by the swings? I think it would make sense.... dont know if anyone would use it but from what I remember before there was always someone using them before.

Hey, haven't posted for a while... what is this ACE tour? Will there be a media day on Friday before the opening weekend?

Know, how can you make that rant about information that hasn't been confirmed by the park then say it doesn't matter? People shouldn't be so quick to shoot off at the mouth until they know for a fact that something is what It is...

The ACE tour is next sat, the 13th, the media is 2 weeks after that, 26th. Hope that helps.

Alternately Jarvis, I could continue freely posting my thoughts on message boards, the entire reason they were created, and you could ignore them and move on.

It obviously enrages you that I want my pass processed early, so much that you posted uppity messages on the park's Facebook as well, so I would consider getting a life.

Rant schmant - if it means that the park will open their pass processing early for us I'm happy I said it, and I'm sure everyone else that processes early that morning will be happy as well, once again having no effect on your life whatsoever.

Back to Intimidator... what is supposed to be placed in that large flat area of dirt they moved the webcam to show? Pavers? Concrete? Seems pretty wide open.

Me enraged! Alert the associated press. Its an honor you follow my post all over the internet, funny I don't know who you are...or frankly care for that matter. Just as you have the right to post freely I observe the same right as you. And you could have very well ignored my post...I guess you see where I'm going with that, what's good for the goose is good for the whiner, oops I mean gander.

I stick by original point(with my uppity self lol), stop whining about nothing that you don't know is true or not...and get your panties out a bunch.

Anyway...I wonder if intimidator will have one of those coaster dynamics model on display like ki did/does? And has it been confirmed for a single riders line? One more thing...has anyone had a chance to talk to the people who have taken a ride on intimidator their reaction??

According to the new interactive Park Map...Kiddie Games

I could be wrong but i would think that the Kiddie Games are going to be on the pavers and the field would be left empty for possible future use.

1. If there wasn't a model on display back in late summer or early fall, I wouldn't count on there being one this spring. I would think the park would want to create hype with it, if it were to purchase a model. Putting it out this spring wouldn't create as much hype. Also, considering the Diamondback model was a few thousand dollars, I would think the park would've gotten the model last year because it is more time to showcase the ride.

2. I'm not sure. I think Dani said they might be thinking about it. I would say yes, since it appears the steps leading up the station have two sides (one for regular queue, the other for SRL).

3. If one of the few people that have ridden Intimidator talk about the experience, they are quite possibly in breach of contract. Cedar Fair is very strict when it comes to releasing information about in park activities and plans. For example, lets say you went to the job fair a few weeks ago, got the job, but also decided to take pictures of Planet Snoopy. Well, if Cedar Fair found out, they could possibly fire you right then (even without you working a single day). Lets say you post those pictures on a site like this, well, the same thing could happen. You can only discuss things that are know to the general public, not just employees.

But, I would still try to find someone and talk to them about the ride. Just don't tell anyone they told you ;).

Huh? I would see taking pictures and such could be a breach if what's being photograph hasn't been made public knowledge, but saying how a ride was is another. Now, if it were a ride on the forbidden journey of harry potter or "13" then yeah, I can see them having to be tigh lipped but this is a coaster out in the opening that wouldn't have any hidden surpises that would jepordize someones job if they say "I like seat 6 better" or "man the ride never let's up". I understand your logic nut I don't really think it would matter with this ride, that isn't a top secret ride.

Thanks for the other in though...

Well, first off, taking pictures from somewhere the public can be nd of something the public wouldn't cause a problem. BUT, taking pictures of things the public can't access (like pictures of Intimidator's station, queue, etc) would possibly cause a problem. Maybe it is just a KI thing. I read last year, that employees were not to discuss what was happening at the park, including riding a new coaster. Part of it was due to the fact there is a "First Rider" public auction. The park doesn't want it to seem like there are other riders ahead of the people paying big bucks to be a "first". Also, the ride experience is not something the public knows about. For some reason, the Company doesn't want it discussed. Finally, any posts made last year about the ride, seeing employees riding it, posts about the experience, etc, were deleted instantly because the park asked it be that way. I'm not sure why.

A couple last quotes, where I have read this policy recently.

A word to the wise. If you are an employee of the park, and are posting things occurring inside the park during the offseason that cannot be observed from outside the park, you may not be an employee of the park much longer. Cedar Fair is not amused by such.

...but information about what is and is not happening inside the park, unless it can be seen from outside the park, is off limits, unless approved by the park.

No, you don't have to take those for anything. But, that particular poster has been very reliable, and if he says something, for the most part, it is true.

Yes, it is a breach of contract to talk about a ride that it has not open to the GP. It doesn't matter what kind of ride, if the park finds out you opened your mouth, you will have a pink slip in it.
