1. If there wasn't a model on display back in late summer or early fall, I wouldn't count on there being one this spring. I would think the park would want to create hype with it, if it were to purchase a model. Putting it out this spring wouldn't create as much hype. Also, considering the Diamondback model was a few thousand dollars, I would think the park would've gotten the model last year because it is more time to showcase the ride.

He is talking about statix, not a model.

I believe he was talking about the Coaster Dynamix model like KI had for Diamondback:

It is a model to give a representaion of what the ride will look like when completed. I don't see why Carowinds wouldn't have purchased one last year fpr the announcement or shortly thereafter, but decide to have one this spring when they have a huge, life-size one in front of the park.

Why do you need a model?? Where do you want to see it, beside the Que line? If they had gotten one built last year, they could have placed it in all the area malls and help out their season ticket sales. A model with a couple people there working for the park with questions and season pass forms. Sorry, but I really don't see why you need a model now when you can go to the park and watch the life-sized model run full speed.

If you would like to buy some Intimidator coaster statix "Train" them your best bet is to email carowinds and put in a request for a product because thats how most of the cedar fair parks get them is they are asked by so many people then they go to coaster dynamix and they make them.

So it looks as if all the pavers are placed down now. Haven't seen any testing this weekend, but it looks as if the queue shading/housing is starting to come together. Seems like a lot of activity has shifted over to trying to finish Snoopy Land before the big day. I wonder when the identical mock-up car will arrive to be placed in Victory Lane. On a side note, has anyone figured out why there is a huge slab of concrete next to the lift, just kind of odd why they would need that big of an area at the bottom of the lift paved, I mean its not like its going to be a small parking lot for maintenance vehicles or something is it?

By the way, just thought I should mention I am getting kind of bored since I haven't seen much "progress." It'd be cool if someone could update the blog or we could get some pics of Snoopy Land's progress. Sigh, but I guess all good things have to be waited upon. We really miss you Dani. :D

At any rate, it will or would've been nice to have them.

And maybe some kind soul on the site will build us a model.

Please...

Coaster Dynamix themselves. Go to coasterdynamix.com, it's a great place.

But yea, I'm trying to decide to go on opening day or the following friday. Do you think that friday would be less crowded?

To be honest....Fridays are ok, but by about noon you're going to start seeing a huge crowd only because the kiddies are getting out of school, high schoolers will be ditching school to ride the newest attraction, and people who work are going to take a half day off or an extended lunch. Your best bet is to go on a Sunday, since everyone will be praising the gospels of this coaster to the Lord and thanking him for CF purchasing the Paramount chain. Until full-time operation begins, Early Friday mornings (if you live/work close enough) and all day on Sundays will be your best time to go for small crowds. Working there you get to see just how many people actually play hookie with the school or the boss man just to go to an amusement park.
