General Carowinds discussion

I think these are the last coasters the park would remove. Maybe the Cyclone in a few years but I don't think the Gold Rusher is going anywhere soon. I don't know who you heard it from, but these two coasters are staying as far as we are concerned. If you want a clearer answer, I would take your questions up with the park here: https://www.carowinds.com/contact-us

Goldrusher was rumored to be removed after the 2010 season, it didnt happen. However, I will tell ya now, Carowinds did discuss removing Goldrusher but plans changed. Cyclone was almost replacee by KD's Flight of Fear, Cedar Fair put an end that Paramount's 2007 plans for Carowinds.

Cedar Fair put the brakes on it and reinstalled Frenzoid, Paramount had listed Frenzoid for sale in 2006. KI's Firehawk ironically used Paramount Parks cancelled plans from 2001 to 2003.

Back to Flight of Fear, information leaked out claimed that it wouldnt be fully enclosed similar to the MTV Soundwave concept if anyone remembers that and that backstage buildings would been shuffled.

That jarvis guy is kinda a big deal...that basically HAVE to answer him! (from what I've been told)

You mean that guy flipping the bird? Very professional! Anyway it seems like these guys right here are the only questions Carowinds answered. They seem like they are answering dumb questions and nothing serious like the repainting for example. It makes me think that these are questions set up by employees just for Carowinds to answer.

I take the question from Jarvis back, that I did want to know. However the other questions seem like pretty dumb questions and Carowinds didn't answer any of the others even my question. Either one of two things, repainting is going to be a "suprise" or it's out of the question.

Can I tell you a secret...promise not to tell...I am jarvis and the man in the picture is my dad!

Since we got that out of the way...I think questions about removing rides are important. Nasty rumors and silly "save (insert coaster) pages can pop up like weeds. Its best to stop rumors like that before they start.

I remember that. Yeap FOF, had been mothballed at Dominion and was on it's way South. I was pissed about the idea, because Paramount was only giving Carowinds yet another orphan coaster some other park did not want. It was though we were not good enough for the brand new version. When Fair gave us Cobra, and reinstalled Frenzoid I was like, "no they are not continuing this second hand, step child crap."

Paramount didnt save any money by moving Stealth.I would love to have FoF but not at the cost of Cyclone. I am glad we got Cobra abd Saturator is gone, Saturator was boring when the water was off and the line was too long when it was hot enough to enjoy the water. I love Cobra!

I just wish they would hurry up and officially announce what it is actually going to be. But I guess we will probably have to wait until August to have it confirmed. But I'm sure the execs at Cedar Fair and B&M have the plans in process already. Maybe in the coming months we will see some activity at that steel factory in Ohio. And I guess the hints and teases will start at the park this Spring.

There's a lot of people on KIC that live in Ohio (gasp!) and occasionally one of them will drive through Batavia, and if they see anything they will most likely post what they've seen.

I have to disagree. Not only was it an economical it was also smart to move stealth. The water park brought more people in the gate and I'm sure they would have tried to sell it or scrape it cause the knew the water park was the way to go.

Why not just announce 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well...announcing it today wouldn't make a difference than announcing it in december. I would much rather have it announced later in the year...
