General Carowinds discussion

Thats what Carowinds has led us to believe since 1973, that the state runs down the center of North Gate and the bridge. Heres another observstion from Google Maps, whats with all the storage containers in the Season pass parking lot?

Actually, unless regulations have changed in the last few years, that is incorrect. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the people who works with the state of North Carolina inspections who does the Carowinds inspection each year and asked him specifically about this. He said that only one state inspects each ride, and the determining factor in which state does what rides is the location of the station building. For example, South Carolina is responsible for all of Thunder Road, because the station is in South Carolina, but NC does the Goldrusher inspection because the station is in North Carolina.

Just an interesting bit of insight!

From what was told to Mecklenburg board members we're getting a 300 ft. Wing coaster exclusive to only North Carolina. This is truth. Why all the hoopla of imagination to recreate information. Its a fact. Not 400 miles away fact(lol marks). But factual information. Study to show thy self approved unto God. You people have the facts but refuse to accept them for your imagination controls you. Its why CHRIST was crucified. Their mind was blinded by their own obsessions.

^I would hope not. I feel like coasters over 200 feet shouldn't have inversions (with the exception of dive coasters). I wouldn't mind winged seats, but I would prefer the original B&M Hyper sit-down trains. If it does turn out to be a 300 foot looping winged coaster, I will be disappointed after how people said Gatekeeper turned out.

I went back and reread one article and while it Implys we are getting a wing coaster. It doesnt say that.I think Gatekeeper was used as an example because our coaster will have a presence at the front gate. However, I still believe it could refering to Intamin's Wing Coaster lije Skyrush.

You actaully connected roller coasters to the bible..
The only thing the two have in common, is the two are both filled with speculation.

One of the articles show the area where the coaster would go outlined in red, however Jukebox is still standing so I am wondering if possibly it could get expanded and rethemed with the new coaster..

About that ^. I have a legitimate theory.

In the article, the presenter trying to get the project through, specifically says that he "was under the impression that the palladium was the entrance". (presumably because, from above it looks like a large paved area). And he just simply applied the layout info he received from Cedar Fair to the image, slightly skewing the track's supposed layout. Therefore, making it slightly off center of where Cedar Fair told him it would be?...

So, isn't it entirely possible that he's using the palladium and relating it to the entrance? If so, that would mean, he is claiming it will go through the middle of the entrance (Ala, Cedar Point). BUT..... They also have confirmed that they are planning on re-doing a new entrance, presumably starting it outward into the parking lot (which will be reorganized as well).

That would make the coaster go through the entrance, just like Cedar Point, and still keep it fully on the NC side.

Also, add in the fact that it is well known that Carowinds is 100% getting a new entrance, and they have said they'd like to put a coaster at the front, just like Gatekeeper. This is a valid theory. Not saying it will or will not be a wing or Giga, or whatever, but this is a realistic possibility about where it will be placed.
