General Carowinds discussion

To me it just wouldn't make sense of why Cedar Fair would do that to one of their own parks.

Yeah, especially if Cedar Point is supposed to be the flagship park, I wouldn't count on a 300 ft. winged coaster.

A standard 300+ Giga is not "WORLD RECORD BREAKING" in any way, shape, or form.

I geninunely believe this will be the tallest Wing Coaster in the World. Cedar Fair politics aside, that's looking more and more like what we are gonna be getting.

(although my preferance would be something else... So clearly I'm not being clouded by wishful thinking, it's just what the evidence stacks up to be in my eyes...)

My turn for crazy speculating!! With the way Rocky Mountain Coasters are popping out these insane coasters, I don't think it's totally unreasonable to rule out that this record that Carowinds is gonna grab could be the tallest woodie. Now that the new renderings of Goliath at Great America have been released featuring the I-305 style steel lift structure, I could see RMC hitting the 300'+ mark with little difficulty.

Here's one of the renderings.

Maybe so, maybe not. Thoughts?

Is that RMC coaster one of those newer hybrid coasters made of both wood and steel?

Wonder when preliminary foundation work will begin this year, and when steel track will begin to show up at the park? I guess the official announcement will be sometime in August.

That is what the (German?, I believe) report said. That B&M was gonna be building the Carowinds coaster.

And why 27 days

The park opens for the 2014 season. Maybe if we see the ground work for the coaster, we might have an idea about what will be coming.

Tallest green coaster isn't anymore a niche, specific record than tallest wing coaster.

Longest coaster in the world is a real record. I'm not saying that's it but y'all are setting yourselves up for disappointment.

Just like KI's Giga that ended up being an invert.

Does this mean you know what the coaster is?

What? They cant have multiple construction projects on going on.
