This thread is gonna give me a bad bowel movement, lol. In all seriousness though... For all we know this thing could have three small hills or one big hill or zero hills. Who knows... I also wonder if the view at the top will be like Lookout Mountain where you can see for ninety+ miles away or if the heat on those eighty five degree+ days will cause a lot of hazy views. I'm hoping it'll be clear enough to be able to see the Charlotte Motor Speedway on a clear day.

Anywho... It'll be fun to see how you guys turn your train of thought around and are inclined to try and figure out eight statistics of the ride before it's announced.

First off, I think it's important to note that Jarsh has specifically mentioned a bowl movement. This isn't random!! As most are aware, bowl movement can be abbreviated to BM, aka B&M.

Manufacturer: Bolliger & Mabillard

As he is talking about the hills, he uses the numbers 3 1 and 0 in that order.

Height: 310ft.

As the others have pointed out...

Speed: 90+ mph
Drop: 85+ degrees

Then he mentions the figure eight. I don't think this has to do with the entire layout either, because he says "turn your train...around and...inclined." I figure that there will be a figure eight turnaround like Magnum at Cedar Point.

So a stats recap,
Manufacturer: Bolliger & Mabillard
Height: 310ft.
Speed: 90+ mph
Drop: 85+ degrees
Features: Figure 8 turnaround

What do you guys think? Agree? Disagree?

...disagree.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a couple dry ponds in the area around the parking lot? I'd like to see them refilled. It would look pretty good.

The park is great, imo, when it comes to coasters. But it just needs a little "somethin". Re-filling the pond would be a step in the right direction.

It is possible the Bowel Movement reference could indeed be a hint for B&M, meaning Bolllinger and Mabelard. But then again it is indeed a major bodily function that all people experience. Although there are those that suffer from Irregular Bowel Movements such as chronic Constipation, Diarreha, Chron's disease, and the Ulcerative Colitis. So it is indeed an important concern when one suffers from a very bad Bowel Movement. However, in this case, it very well could be suggesting a B&M giga as anticipated. But I wonder if the Charlotte Motor Speedway reference is suggesting another Nascar theme?

Tallest lift hills:

Steel Dragon 2000 - 318'
Millennium Force - 310'
Leviathan - 306'
Intimidator-305 - 305'

Tallest drops on non-launched coasters:

Steel Dragon 2000 - 307'
Leviathan - 306'
Millennium Force - 300'
Intimidator-305 - 300'

If 310 feet was the DROP height it would indeed be a world record, though a rather cumbersome and less than impressive sounding one ("tallest non-launched drop", "tallest drop on a traditional lift coaster", etc).

Thank you for your explanation of irregular bowel movements. We all needed that.

And could "turn your train around" refer to some sort of loop? That would be a record for a Giga. And what about the incline reference? And there very well could be some sort of figure eight pattern. Very interesting choice of words indeed, from 310 feet and including the Bowel Movement.

tylerSC wrote:That Shambala looks like a really good coaster. And I believe it is B&M. So if they incorporate aspects of that design in a Carowinds giga that would be good.

It is B&M.

The only aspects of that ride I like are its sheer size and the figure eight turnaround element. Those are the only things i hope to see in our coaster. The rest is kinda boring looking, I hope ours has a more interesting layout to it...

so is this a confirmation or just a guess on the manufacturer etc?

from Screamscape.

2015 - New Coaster - (4/11/14) According to Screamscape sources, full scale construction (clearing & footer prep) for the new 2015 B&M Giga Coaster project coming to Carowinds is expected to begin before the end of May.

looking at the blue prints, the tunnel looks to be in just a weird place for a tunnel the way the existing gate is. now if they move the gate forward, I can see them making the tunnel go directly under the gate, which would be kinda neat. Cedar point is in the north and goes over the gate, Carowinds is in the south and goes under it, kinda a north & south approach. could totally work.
