CALLING ALL COASTER ENTHUSIASTS!

Coasting For Kids is only a month away and we need to do better than last year where there were less than twelve of us. Right now I am the only person on Team ACE for Kids but I'm sure some of you would love to come join me! All you need is to pay the $25 registration fee then raise an additional $75. If you don't want to raise money just shell out the $100 and come on out!

I don't care of you're a member of Club TPR instead. I'm a member of numerous enthusiasts clubs and organizations and support as many as I can because I love roller coasters and amusement parks. I'd love to meet you and have you join us no matter which club you are a member of. If you aren't a club member I'll be happy to let you know why I support each of the clubs because they're all different in their own way. I have friends all over the country from all the clubs.

But it's not about coaster clubs... It's about the kids with life threatening illnesses and their families. Help us raise money to give them a special week where they can forget about their challenges and just be a kid again. Give Kids The World is a great place and a charity that I whole heartily support. If you don't want to ride, feel free to support GKTW through my page:

I know Carowinds hasn't announced their lineup yet but who cares? We all love riding coasters and this is a great way to help build awareness and money for a great cause! Come on out and join me! I'd like us to double the participants from last year and have 2 dozen.

I look forward to your support and seeing you on 6/8/14!

No minimum age, just have to meet the height requirements of which ever coaster(s) they pick to marathon.
As for how the day plays out someone else will have to enlighten us

I donated to your page, bhair3. I get my donations from friends, family, and sometimes from companies I do business with on a regular basis. I also believe strongly in this charity so I donate myself.

As far as your questions go, dianals, I'd check out the FAQ page:

http://support.gktw.org/site/PageServer?pagename=coastingfaq

There they answer the age requirements, and most other questions you may have. You can also email Kaylee at kayleer@gktw.org. She has been helpful.

Regarding the day of the event, the park will send you an email of where to meet and what time. It's usually before the park opens. There you get your shirt and some other things. From there they take us around to the coasters that have been designated per the schedule. I also think I had to sign a release because there will be at least one camera and possibly more for filming. Bring great energy and spirit. While they don't close a coaster for us, we get to go through as if we had a fast pass and they make sure we all get on the same train for filming. You can ride as little or as much as you want. We break for an hour at lunchtime and have lunch courtesy of the park. Once we are done for the day, you are welcome to hang around the park at your leisure or head home.

Ok, thank you. I don't think I will be joining a coaster club anytime soon because my schedule during the summer is so jammed-packed. So, I only get to make about 1 theme park trip a year (sometimes less). And during the fall, winter and spring, I have class.

Thank you, everyone, for your support of Give Kids The World Village through Coasting For Kids! With everybody's help, we raised over $5,000 from those of us who rode NightHawk and Intimidator yesterday.

We did have a better representation this year and it keeps growing every year. I hope some of you who haven't done it before will keep an eye out early 2015. They usually announce it in January or February so you have a few months to raise money and awareness for this charity.

There are no details on Coasting for Kids 2015 but it looks like the date is Sunday, June 7, 2015. I'm hoping we can get more participation this year. I'll update this when I have more details.
