Just a couple things I noticed during my trip yesterday:
Skyflyer/Ripcord's new location seems to be working out. I used to rarely see anyone on it when it was by hurler but now people are lining up to ride it.
I still don't understand the Intimidator seatbelts. They are really loose and don't do anything.
The building for Harmony Hall is almost done, but the small lot next to it is still dirt with no landscaping. The funnel cake emporium looks ready, so it should open any day now.
Lines were extremely short yesterday. I was actually able to ride Nighthawk without waiting for 3 hours, we got to stay on Intimidator because no one was in our row, and we had a train all to ourselves on Afterburn and Thunder Road.
Our longest wait of the day was for Boo Blasters, and three of the four guns in our car didn't shoot. They need to either tear that ride down or renovate it asap.
Chickie's and Pete's looks great, and having the frozen yogurt next to it made me actually consider eating in that area of the park for the first time in many years. Plus, now that Ricochet has it's new paint job, the Outer Banks area of the park looks pretty good.
Go-Karts are gone for good. Half the track and the station is gone.
One of the water slides looks complete, but the other isn't even close to being done. Most of the slide is still next to Thunder Road in the parking lot.
Speaking of Thunder Road, it seemed to be running a little smoother yesterday than it normally does. It's still really rough, but it's fun rather than painful. They're still only running one side though, which I'm not a big fan of.
Overall, the park looks great, and once all this construction is finished it will look even better. Yesterday was probably the cleanest I've ever seen Carowinds, and it's pretty clear how much effort Cedar Fair is putting into this park. Now it's time to build the Giga
Hopefully we'll some construction start once the go-karts are fully removed.
