But then you wouldn't enter the park on the border. Entering the park and being between two states is one of the coolest parts of Carowinds. People who go to Carowinds for the first time always want to walk along the border, take pictures on it, and be in two states and once. Plus, think of all the things they would have to change to make that work. For starters, the main parking lot is right next to the north gate, so people would have to walk all the way over to the south gate to get in unless Carowinds changes the parking lot configuration. Also, the current entrance has the fountain, bridge, border, gift shop, the big Carowinds sign, skytower, etc. You'd have to add or move all of that to the south gate. Plus, the front gate has the plantation house, which is pretty classic. The front gate is also a lot bigger, so you'd have to make the south gate bigger to hold the crowds. Seems like a lot of work, and we are getting a $30 million coaster anyway. Why would you want to have the gate be near a coaster that's been in the park for 15 years as opposed to having our brand new coaster going over it? I think our front gate is fine the way it is, and having our new coaster go over it would make it even better.
