You guys are overthinking the whole "8th wonder of the world" thing. It's a pretty common marketing tool. Lots of things have been labeled the 8th wonder of the world, such as the Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House, Panama Canal, and the Three Gorges Dam in China. The 8th Wonder of the World is just a common term used to describe big things that humans have built. Simple as that. It's just a marketing tool used to make something sound one of a kind. It has nothing to do with height, speed, or length. For example, if Charlotte were to build the world's tallest building, they could use the same 8th Wonder of the World slogan, and it would have the same meaning as it does at Carowinds.
