General Carowinds discussion

Until we see a trademark that lines up with this teaser, I think it's safe to assume that this poster has little to do with the theming of the ride. Centurion is the only name that is even remotely close to matching up with this teaser, but for now that trademark is suspended. It has been quite amusing for me to watch some of you try and find a clue on the poster like it's some sort of treasure map. This isn't like one of those National Treasure movies. The name and stats of our coaster aren't written on the back of the Declaration of Independence or hidden somewhere behind text on the teaser map. It's just a poster the Carowinds marketing team is using to get the GP excited and to get us questioning what we think we know.

I'm pretty confident that this teaser has very little to do with the stats or theme, but knowing my luck with coasters, this teaser will probably end up being legit. I mean, the coaster gods must either hate me or they just enjoy screwing up every one of my visits to big parks.

At Port Aventura, Shambhala was still being built and I got caught in a 3 hour wait with two breakdowns for Furious Baco, at Cedar Point it rained heavily for seven consecutive hours making every ride near the front row excruciatingly painful and led to the closing of TTD for the whole day and shut down Maverick for all but one hour. At Hershey, Skyrush was closed and Stormrunner broke down, and at Magic Mountain I got stuck in line for two hours at Goliath and X2 was testing the whole day but never actually opened.

Not sure what its hurting for people on here to make guesses and have fun. Pretty sure Jonathan isnt being charged by the post to host this forum. Most of us just enjoy being a coaster enthusiast and letting our excitement show through our posts. Nobody said we had to be all serious. Lighten up.

I am now officially voting for the name to be "Rugaboo/Bugaboo".
I can't stop laughing at that suggestion!!!

At least you were not riding Ninja on Monday when a tree fell on it.

Sorry, I meant the whole treasure map and "National Treasure" thing as a joke, not to critize people for guessing. Trust me, I love speculating just as much as everyone else here. All I was trying to say is that I don't think the teaser map is related to the theme of the ride, that's all. I'm not trying to tell people what they can and can't post or that each post needs to be serious. I never said anything like that. I just saw that others were commenting their opinion on what they think the teaser means so I commented my opinion. I'm not trying to kill all the fun and excitement, I'm JUST GUESSING what the teaser means, just like everyone else is.

Not necessarily. I'm sure with the extreme overbanks this thing will have a piece like that could very well fit somewhere. Although that piece does look to do an awful lot of curving in a short space, lol. Might be part of a zero-g roll or an inline twist for an inverted somewhere (ahem.. Holiday World?).

Regardless of what color it is, based on Cedar Fair's obsession with two tone track (one color rails and cross ties and another color spine (Gatekeeper, Silver Bullet. Mantis, Behemoth, Raptor, Hydra, Patriot (kinda)), if track show up and is painted with two tones, we'll have a good idea where it's going. But with that being said - Leviathan and Banshee neither one had this two tone paint so who knows, lol.

I was looking at the new set I posted to my FB, and this one caught my eye. It looks like hyper/giga track.

It looks just like track from Leviathan:

That's unpainted dive coaster track. It is headed to be painted orange just like the other pieces.

How do I know? The cross ties on Leviathan have a curve from the rail to the spine. The unpainted one doesn't. Those cross ties go straight from the rail to the spine.

And the 100% definative answer as to why it is the orange dive coaster track... It's already been prepainted in the nooks and cranny's of the bracket to be orange. And the chain that it's hanging from has the lower part painted orange which means they just got through painting an orange part. Now, this could be the first piece of track that is a different color, but with some parts alreasy painted orange, it's unlikely.
