Quick question. Have any of you rode Dominator at KD? and if so, would you like for our Giga to have floorless trains?

Dominator is a cool ride. I could def ride a floorless as a hyper/giga as long as the OTSR are removed. The sides of me head aren't a fan.

I've been on several floorless, including dominator, and the floorless aspect is lost beyond the front seat...

Point taken. Unless the trains were designed in such a way as to offer the same feel throughout. The same feeling of no floor and the sensation of hitting the track. The seats could also have no sides on them like Intimidator.

Question:

When they do the official announcement in August, will we have every detail about the ride such as exact height, length, etc?

Honestly, no one knows anything about the announcement. Take verductt at schlitterbaun for example..they just released the specs of how tell the slide actually is but on the other hand, canadas wonderland had never released the ride specs for guardian. I'm almost sure something of this magnitude will be released with all info though.

Yes, The park held an off season tour for Intimidator. We are working on one for the ACE event in September as well early next year.

Dang...I'm hating HHN opens the same weekend as C3. Can you guys push the date back a week??? p

Can't do it, lol. Just come up for the off-season tour in January or February (haven't decided yet).

Carolina Cobra announced September 10, 2008.

Intimidator announced August 26th, 2009.

Windseeker announced August 24th, 2011.


With these opening dates, do you think we can expect an announcement in late August? Or will it be sooner, like the announcement for Banshee and Gatekeeper.

I would expect that parks like to time their announcements with the beginning of the season pass sales period and at the end of the peak season to avoid the scenario where someone says "Oh well let's just wait until next year to go when they have the new roller coaster."

Hey everyone, new to the conversation. Grew up with the park from year one, worked shows there in '87 & '88, and now Hersheypark is our home park. Did you catch Carowinds tweet this morning? "Rome wasn't built in a day, but it starts with a foundation." Most likely settles the name issue. I've enjoyed your discussion - wish Hershey had such a good group.

Well that's funny...I just got the Roman tweet today, but it's been out since Thursday. I'm on Hershey time I guess. Sorry for being late on that one. I'm just glad to see Carowinds get fixed - I loved the old park, hated most of what Paramount did to it. Thanks to you guys for posting photos since I don't live there.

Is Hershey the better park? Seems like they have a better grasp on things. Cedar seems robotic. I love robotic if we get giga but they've been getting great coasters.
