Fury325 doesn't give any sense of enormity or magnitude in my opinion. It sounds too fun. Centurion/Intimidator/Leviathan all give off a sense of greatness... That's why my vote is for Centurion.

Just throwing this out there even though I'm sure it has been before, here are the last two marketing campaigns things from Carowinds go like,
White Lightning leak = Intimidator
Wright Brothers tease = Windseeker

So that probably means that

Centurion leak/tease = Fury325, or some other name like that

unfortunately.

Intimidator had the tire track teaser with the words 'record breaking, history making....' on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if our giga is named Centurion. Windseeker's teaser can be argued, but wasn't their another teaser for it that kind of gave it away?

Something about 'soaring to new heights' was on it. Based on recent history with Intimidator's second teaser having tire tracks on it, and Windseeker's teaser that described riders flying to new heights, this 'Rome wasn't built in a day' teaser might be giving away Centurion already.

Fury, to me, seems better suited. Fury can mean fast, rage...furious! From the designs you guys have come up with, the coaster seems fast...hauling *** thru the course. Seems to fit better than Centurion...

And, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't here a new marketing/pr person now? Maybe she/he is teasing the GP instead of the 'coaster geeks'.

I was just talking with an employee about the ride (I realize you should never believe employees) but she said the tunnel was gonna go under north gate. Now with all the tree clearing and relocation of the toll plaza ect. Wouldn't that make sense?

This is different. It's 100 feet taller with different trains and a layout that emphasizes speed and turns over airtime.

Just because it's the same "type" of coaster by the same manufacturer doesn't mean it will be a carbon copy. The people that this ride is trying to attract (aka the 300,000 attendence bump they are hoping for) will just see it as a giant new coaster. There won't be any complaints of "wahhh this is exactly the same as Intimidator" because it won't be.

Canada's Wonderland did the same thing and no one compares Behemoth to Leviathan. You can't. They are drastically different rides that compliment each other well. Most importantly they are both FANTASTIC rides.

I love the speed and quick turns of this coaster. That makes it a completely different ride. Tunnel and water features too. We are so lucky to be getting a ride of this magnitude. Carowinds will be at the top of people's list for visits in 2015. Enthusiasts from all over will visit the park for the first time. Even more excited for the announcement!

I agree with you! This has the potential (I say potential based on speculation) to be the tallest and 5th giga coaster in the W O R L D! That alone would bring people from all over....Craziness!!!

And about the theme park vs amusement - I will agree that theme's are great! But at the end of the day - the big huge awesome rides are what people are after (for the most part)......the theme's are just gravy.

I wish they would name it Fury. I designed a NL coaster a long time ago named fury, its a launch coaster

Last pictures I saw floating around there was quite a bit of unpainted track out...I wouldn't give up yet. But I'm sure there is someone on here who would have a better idea than I.

Who said it hasnt..... what about this track.... all of the user made rides were yellow so... I am 100% sure its not intamin and I am very happy about that.
