General Carowinds discussion

Why is this thread not good enough for construction? It's where the pics have been posted for the last month or so now, I see no reason to start a new thread (yet). Should we just rename it?

What would you guys like to see, honestly?

I had a sudden thought (I know, dangerous passtime  ), but when you think "Centurion" You think Rome, so Golds and Reds and Whites. But when you think "fury", you would immediately think reds and such, but you could also think of Purple or even lime green, or even orange. Just a thought.

I think that renaming this thread " ***Official footer poring thread*** (TBA Aug. 21)" or something like that could work, kind of like how it was done with Intimidator, or possibly make a new thread with that title for the specific construction for the coaster, as it looks like the construction directly related to the coaster has officially begun with the digging of the holes.

Five years from now when I want to reminisce about this awesome event, I would prefer one long 200+ page thread rather than having to remember there was a 'footer' thread, and a 'steel has arrive... PICS HERE' thread and a 'We reached 300 feet tall!!!!1111one' thread.

I was just thinking about that. Why not keep it all on one simple thread, including the announcement discussion? That would be convenient and would definitely the biggest thread this site has ever seen.

I don't know why I have been thinking about this the past few days. I guess my coaster geekdom and emotional attachment I have with Carowinds and the park
On August 21st, 2014 or March 31st, 2015 (opening day at Carowinds). It is going to be a bittersweet day because after 5 years of holding its reign our beloved Queen Intimidator will step down to #2 in the park. As being Carowinds official major rollercoaster, the tallest coaster ever built at the park, and the largest capital investment in the parks history at the time, the 1st of the longest, fastest, and tallest coaster in the Southeast she really put Carowinds on the map. I don't know about you but Intimidator will always hold a speacial place in my heart.

From coaster geek to coaster geek:
**LONG LIVE THE QUEEN INTIMIDATOR**

I agree that just renaming the thread would be ideal, that way all the info since it was found out until it's unveiled can be in one place. Imo.

I hope Centurion/Fury325 will take advantage of the tight I-305 style turns and really make the most of the experience. That last video is exactly what I hope we get! (With a splashdown?) I wanna go to Intimidator for loads of airtime hills and to this one for the combo Leviathan/Intimidator305 effect.

To reply to a previous post that is now buried as I caught up... The 'new' PR manager has been at the park for around 2 years now...

I still think that Centurion is too obvious a choice for the name of the coaster. I still think it's something more obscure that plays off of ancient Rome.
