I'm going to the park on the 4th so I'm hoping it will arrive the day I'm there.

Don't spend your whole day standing in the parking lot waiting for a truck with a track piece to arrive. Now that would be blasphemy.

I might just do that. What could go wrong?

Based on B&M's track record, the ride will open with the park in March. That is, barring any unforseen circumstances.

^^Yeah, if you have watched construction of other coasters, B&M goes up fast. Right now is the longest part of the construction.

Should I start posting links here of the I 77 south-bound traffic cams to feed the trolls?

Whatever day the new coaster opens won't matter. There will be long lines for it all season long. That's also why you should go to C3 next year because I'm sure there will be some ERT on it. :)

I'll be at the park on the fourth as well. I usually sport my i305 first rider shirt while i'm there, and i'll be photographing anything interesting while i'm there. Also I'll be going north on 77 on the 8th, so i'll keep my eyes peeled if track hasn't shown up yet. It'll be my first trip to Kennywood and Cedar point. Also Pinball world championships!

Kind of sad how possibly biggest announcement in the history of the park will be held while the park is closed.

Well there must be a strategic reason for it.

Exactly tyler, but not because that's when track will arrive. As someone who works in radio, allow me to explain how media works. They don't need the extra commotion of families or unsupervised teens running around. It's a very professional atmosphere where reporters need to be able to ask questions without those extra distractions. Carowinds personnel need to be able to answer those questions without having to worry about little Timmy knocking over the displays. Trust me... they will have some coaster enthusiasts there for interview purpose, but these are people who understand the situation and atmosphere.

While I do suspect the track will be here earlier than Aug. 21, it is possible. Chris, that could definitely be one reason, but there could possibly be another. Well, we will know Aug. 21

Look, I told you the reason. Believe me or not, that is the reason they are holding the announcement while the park is closed. Now, could track arrive the week before or the week after the announcement? Sure, maybe. But that has nothing to do with why they are holding the announcement when the park is closed so stop with the "Kinda sad how they are doing the biggest announcement ever while the park is closed" posts. No, it's not.
