You have the new road drawn wrong. It comes up much closer to the toll booths than where you have it. Your pipe dream is alive and well.

Your drawing had that new black section of the road going right through the proposed basin to the right there.

No the ride won't go under the road but it is obvious from these plans that a walking path will make its way directly above the tunnel connecting the road/parking lot to the main entrance.

I would draw this for you but I do not have access to a program like that at the moment...

I still think all the Rome references are only saying that they're not just building something for 2015. They have started working on a new Carowinds that is going to be going on for years - well beyond the 3 year $50 mil plan.

I have gotten that from numerous sources except the Dippin Dot's guy - there is a common theme that it appears they have been told to say: You will not recognize the new Carowinds and it will be like something you have never seen before.

In my opinion, the Roman theme is not a teaser at all, just a theme they are using based on the common cliche.

Someone earlier asked about the mounds of dirt. They are mounds of dirt. While excavating for all this stuff, they will come up with extra dirt. If they don't have a long term use for it, I suspect they will build a hill with it somewhere like they are doing. There is no need to pay to have it trucked somewhere else when they have the land to pile it up.

It does look like there is enough dirt there to finish filling in the lake. [ducks and runs]

OMG it's a Roman column

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)

So, now we know the crane is there to hoist the drill pipe in place that Long Foundation Drilling Company needs for their drill to make the coaster footers. I imagine that makes it less expensive in the long run instead of excavating for each hole.

I was close. The crane isn't necessarily for the station but it also doesn't necessarily mean that it's here waiting for track.

Thanks for the pics, DT3.

All I'm doing now is just waiting for new teasers. There is really nothing you can do but wait. I used to be on the forum all the time posting ransom comments but realized that there is nothing you can do BUT WAIT! Yes is kills me inside but these 18 days will go by fast.

And I know that this is carowinds and it's a cedar fair park. But we are going to get two Christmas presents in august when six flags release what their parks are getting august 20th and carowinds august 21st. Christmas in august can't get any better!

^I thought the same thing Arby. It's a Roman column!

I called the number too. It was very interesting. BUT I don't think its a teaser for the coaster, but rather for Scarowinds. And not for the Fury maze but for Rougarou! I think it'll be this years chain-wide maze, like 2013's Zombie High School was installed at multiple parks. Rougarou was hinted at during Cedar Point's 'Camp Rou' recently and the paranormal/ferocious description definitely fits that better than just the word Fury... That doesn't even properly describe the current Fury maze, which is themed to mutants right? How are mutants ferocious and paranormal. Typically paranormal is used to speak of ghostly or supernatural activity, a werewolf (rougarou) would make sense as its both ferocious and supernatural.

I think it was hung on the coaster fence because it will be seen by passersby and can also double as teasing the coaster (let's remember that of all the teasers only 1 will be the theme, so it's not that strange to tease one thing and have it actually be an inaccurate teaser that describes something else entirely; in this case possibly a new maze.)

BUT it could be for the coaster too, I just doubt it. I really like the Centurion name, but Fury itself isn't a bad name, providing the numbers are dropped. I find them unoriginal and useless. And I'd hate for our epic attraction's name to be given to another coaster too. Maybe they'll come from left field and just call it Fury? That's trademarked too...

EDIT: to sum it up, the sign seems to be a teaser for the coaster, whereas the phone call seems to be a teaser for a maze? Or not. Just speculation. :)
