Ah yes. Nothing like that great B&M roar. If our ride sounds anything like Kumba, I may faint at the sound of it.

An over 300 foot coaster will be loud enough without needing to let it roar TBH. It would be TOO loud if they don't modify it, which I'm sure they will. I like the roar too, I just don't think it's needed on a coaster this size. I remember back when Vortex opened, you could hear it over by Harmony Hall (the old one). Some of my best memories as a kid there.

Alright... so I had some thoughts this morning and I saw a pic that might confuse folks even more.

So Cedar Fair has a thing for multi-colored coasters. I don't recall a lot of Six Flags coasters having a two or three tone paint scheme. Everyone knows something is up with Mantis at Cedar Point and I happened to see this old pic from this year with some new test paint.

Oddly enough, it's the same type of paint job that's on the track at the plant now. Is Cedar Fair headed into the color phase of one color bottom and another color everything else? That thought tied in with all of the teasers of bees and honeycombs and the fact that they want to bring back more of the Carolina theme leads me to think that this thing might be called Hornet like someone else mentioned. I never gave it any thought before but it certainly lines up with what we're seeing now. I can't find a Cedar Fair trademark for Hornet, but I didn't look that hard either.

So are we looking at a blue green track and beam with a bright green bottom named Hornet?

^For some reason, I can't find any of Carowind's trademarks on Cedar Fair's trademarkia, which leaves me to believe that it will be a name we haven't heard of before. Hornet sounds nice enough, but I don't really think of a pesky insect to describe a giga coaster.

Yeah, I mentioned Hornet's Nest as another nickname for Charlotte. I do think someone else might have mentioned it before me and it just stuck in my mind so I'm not taking credit for the original thought.

I've been stung by many types of bees and hornets are the worst. They are aggressive bees. That would be fitting for a ride of this caliber.

To comment on previous posters, the name Hornet for a ride would have nothing to do with the Charlotte Hornets. They got their name the same way that this ride would get its name. I really think that would make a great ride name/theme. If they rethemed Thrill Zone to Hornet's Nest, they could put a couple of intense flats back there.

I've been suspecting the Hornet name for a couple months. Charlotte Hornet would be awesome with colors from the team. Too bad I guess "Charlotte" won't be in the name. I will say though I really don't think the name will be Fury 325 because I have serious doubts about this thing being that tall.

Maybe I'm being picky, but the only way I can see this being Hornet is if the train is yellow, orange, and black with the blue track being the sky and the green bottom and supports being the ground like the hornet is flying. Other than that I don't see how this could be themed to a hornet what so ever. I mean, what kind of hornet is blue and green?

Mantis is a green insect, yet it's colors are red, yellow, and blue. Though I think it's stuck with those colors because of it's previous name, Banshee.

The lift hill would look nice:

Commenting on what Jarsh has said:

IF the supports are a dark blue / purple and the track and all being teal-ish in color that could represent the Hornets pretty good. Not so sure about the yellow. I still don't have a clue what you would call it.

It would make sense, to me, that C.F. would want the associations within the park to reflect what the Carolina's offer. Just thinking as a council member you would be more willing to assist in future developments with something that helps portray the communities.

As much as I really want the Carolina's atmosphere and presence to stay in our park I guess we all will wait until the 21st for find out for sure where Carowinds is heading. One thing for sure is they are headed up.

-Yes. Invitations are being emailed as far as anyone knows.
-Yes, you must have an invite to attend.
-Not everyone gets an invite. Only people the park considers media are invited to attend.

Do you know if the big announcement will be streamed live like the recent Holiday World announcement?
