I wouldn’t go expecting the park to be as generous as they were with invites to the announcement; they calculated the capacity of Harmony Hall and had the room to fill it. Media Day is just that - for media, and maybe a few coaster related publications. Hell, I'll be lucky to go, and I kinda sorta work for one. In other words… don’t call the park and ask them about it.

They may do another “first ride” auction on opening day for the public though. Hey, how about that Fury 325?

I am also an "original" member, since '04 but I was browsing the site when it first arrived. I always wanted to create my own site, but never did do it and just supported this site for many year and will continue to do so!

Back on topic.... I had an excellent time at the announcement yesterday and it was nice to meet some of you and see you guys again. Sure it wont be long til we see each other again. As far as media day for the ride, I would love t o be apart of that and I HOPE it happens. I am glad though that PR reads the forums and it was really cool when they mentioned CC during the announcement Guess we will just wait and see what happens between now and early march...

And just a word of advice,,, don't be bugging julie, john, or anybody about media day or anything else right now. They have the aftermath of the fury announcement to deal with and there's the onset of scarowinds on the horizon. This is a very busy time for them.

When are they going to start the construction of the new entrance?

I was told that they are supposed to start taking out the plantation house during Scarowinds? So maybe in October if not sooner..... I was also told the toll booths are supposed to be open by labor day, so we will see.

For some reason I thought that I heard someone mention that the plantation house's demolition would immediately start when scarowinds comes to its end.

I just rewatched this side by side with the official POV. Apart from two timing issues and the banking on the turnaround, it was damn near exact.

I still can't believe how good our top 3 in our coaster lineup is going to be. Fury 325, Intimidator, Afterburn. That's crazy. There really aren't many parks with a better top 3 out there. I just recently went to CP and SFMM last year, and I'll take our new Top 3 over theirs any day. I can't believe I'm saying that though.

I agree. It's almost unbelievable how close this was to the official POV. Pretty crazy that you were able to get it that close simply based on the blueprints of the footers. Once again, amazing job man!

I done the exact same thing, Chris. I watched this one and the real POV and I was shocked. Also, montumax, do you know why they are removing the plantation house? I heard it was about the fact that the air ducts in the attic would need to be replaced by removing the roof. Or it was also the fact that the building is just too old to be moved? Which one is it?

Also, in the official POV, did anyone notice any trim brakes? I didn't see any so kudos to that if there aren't any.

Yes, I heard it was because of the AC and having to remove the roof to replace it as well. And the building is to old to move or salvage. I will be sad to see it go, but its time to change the park and sometimes you just have to let things go. Its going to be totally different next year and its going to be awesome! There are no trims on Fury 325.

This a million times. No one represents this site except Max, Doug, Jay, and myself. If the park is kind enough to decide to invite some Carowinds Connection members to media day then I'm sure they will reach out to me just like they did this time, and we'll handle it.

Love the idea that Fury 325 is all about speed and guest interaction in the front of the park. Signature ride! Kudos to CF and Carowinds. Can't wait for next season.
