They have officially said "Spring 2015" but the lead guy said he's pushing to finish everything sooner (if possible).

Thanks for your comment.

So I guess that means they are aiming for June, 21st, as the latest but they hope to have it open sooner than that, right? Hope I can ride that thing next year, we will be there from June, 17th until June, 30th, 2015.

On the day Gatekeeper was announced Space Spiral was still operating. Footers were not poured until October 2nd, 2012, track did not arrive until October 23, 2012, and vertical construction didn't begin until November 5, 2012. Despite a cold winter, Gatekeeper was completed AHEAD of schedule in February. Fury 325 will open on time...

That sounds promising, but Fury's track is way longer than Gatekeeper's. Anyway, I hope you are right.

Years ago when they were building the huge interchange down by Carowinds, I use to go down there just to look at that. Well I figure I could be doing worst things, like watching bad tv shows and movies. I just found it fascinating the way they topped off Leviathan. Those pieces are so heavy, and have to go up at the exact angle. If I could sit out beside Fury in a lawn chair and watch that in real life I would be so happy. For me it like NASA launching a rocket off into space. You never get tired of it. I feel that way about launched coasters as well. I can watch the blast off hundreds of times and never get tired. I hope our next coaster will be launched.

I'm like that with the 485 interchange by concord mills also when the knights stadium and the view condominiums went up.

Fury is rougher 33% longer than Gatekeeper and about twice the height. Also note that trains didn't complete test runs until April. Even once steel erection is done, there is electrical and more construction to be done.

That's why I said June, 21st as the latest. That's the time when spring (starting in March) comes to an end and summer begins.

The coaster can be erected pretty fast, so it is going to be all about those footers and the entry plaza. Anybody know how far they have gotten with the footers? Are they around to the front of the park, where the old entry road use to be? Have they taken the Plantation House down? Also it is about time for the 'big boy' crane(s) to arrive. They can drop the break run track in a couple of days.

I really hope its ready for opening weekend. And i hope opening weekend is the weekend of 3/28. If so, I might be able to justify making the 1,200 mile trek to check it out.

Plantation House was still standing as of today 10/11.
