General Carowinds discussion

Also nice to know that Carowinds is working with Devin Olsen Media on a Fury 325 Documentary. They are great video and I've always wanted Carowinds to make a film with them. This should be GREAT! :D :D :D

Devin Olsen media you say? I asked Julie about that on the announcement day before I left the park. I asked if she had seen their documentary on Verbolten or Gatkeeper, but she said no, and I suggested that she watch them. I don't know if she did, but hopefully that was a deciding point. I am very happy that the park will be working with them to create a documentary. However, it wouldn't be finished until at least media day or later... just saying. But still, I'm happy.

Also, I am happy to see great progress on the track. I like the white catwalks. It's different for a change. Also, nice to see more work on the station. I plan on being at the park next weekend, so I'll take lots of pictures and video.

Here is an already outdated aerial photo from the ALT Facebook. Image

Also I think that the catwalks are kind of odd as well, mostly because they were teal in the animation. And for some reason I can't think of a B&M off the top of my head where the catwalks don't match the track.

It's strange, yes, but very interesting. The animation was only for illustration purposes. so we'd have an "idea" of what it will look like. I think it is quite nice, just because it is different.

EDIT:
I was just thinking, if the catwalks are white, it would make the coaster stand out more when coming down I-77 from the north. You could actually see the coaster from farther away because the white color would stand out from the rest of the park. An interesting thought... Try to picture that in your head.

white catwalks on the lift hill is going to make me cringe. Anyone wanna redo an animation using white catwalks?

Hey Davidw, not to be the one to correct you but you might want to update your illustration again; if you go back and look at the pic that Carowinds posted on their Facebook page you will see that there is another straight piece that was added just past the loading station.

Its correct. I think the 2 different angles might be throwing you off. If you compare the supports between the rendering and the picture it should help.

Actually he is correct, if you look at this picture track extends past the gray area of the station supports.

I am absolutely loving this. Oh, hey do you guys remember that photo of the park that I edited. (the view from North I-77) I put Fury in it. Well, the coaster wasn't at the right angle, so I am re-editing that photo. I will post it later.

Look at the supports again. The angle is messing with you.
