This is now in the Carowinds photo gallery. It is odd to see it from a different angle.

BTW great article; also that footer they were talking about is the one in the turn around, if you listen to the audio they say that specifically; so I guess that means that all of the footers are poured and we just need to wait on them to cure.

It looks like the piece closest to the person taking the picture from the link on page 66 is for the lower part of the helix to me. I'm so excited :) also, is it possible that they work backwards from the brake run into the small camel backs with the smaller cranes, or will they just wait until the large crane gets here to do the rest? It seems like a lot of the ride could be done with the cranes already on site, but I assume once the big crane arrives all the pieces will the put into place using that. And if they poured the last footer today, I think they will start very very soon on the lift. By the time they get to that portion of the ride, those footers would be cured well enough to put the track in place. What a great time! Football is here, basketball is starting back, its almost Christmas and Fury is about to reach for the sky. What a time to be alive haha

This is just a shot in the dark but I would assume that if they were to start on the camel backs before the lift hill that the cranes would not have enough room to move around.....just a thought

What's interesting to me is how they build and design a coaster like this. It is so mind boggling to imagine how they created a piece of track to match their standards for every detail and placement. I would hate to be the people at b&m that weld everything together, just imagine one fault what would happen. It also amazes me how the contractors know how to be exact with pouring footers and making sure every piece fits perfectly above. I went to Scarowinds last Saturday from Greensboro just to see Fury-that's how obsessed I am with this coaster. The colors are one of the best combinations I've ever seen on a coaster and the fact that Carowinds has stepped it's game up is just amazing to me. I'm such a dork :D

I am hoping that I will find a way down to the park on Saturday or Sunday. I enjoy reading the forums every day when I get home. Yeah, I sound like a dork, but think what you will because you will anyway. I find all of this very interesting.

This was just posted to Mosley Erecting's Facebook page.

Could we see this piece go in today? Possibly. I just have no idea if they have a support for it in place yet. But undoubtedly this first lift piece will be in very soon!

I don't see any other pieces being erected until the crane arrives. Perhaps it will be here this weekend?
