Did anybody else notice in the airel shot the long piece or pieces of track on the ground just beyond the lift hill...it looks to be about 2 or 3 pieces of the lift hill ready to go into place

Am I the only one having a hard time grasping the concept that they are putting the continents's longest and tallest coaster in that area? It just looks like there isnt enough space to me. I fell like from an ariel view Intimidator will look the same size if not bigger (not in height obivously) Loving the progress though. Just cant see how the entire new plaza is going to fit in that space that looks small to me.

I think you mean the continent's longest and fastest giga coaster... But I do see what you mean about there not being enough area.
I think that it will be really cool coming into the park and having the roller coaster going over and under you. It will "greet" you to the park.

... North America's Longest Steel Coaster. actually. 8)

but that arguing semantics. lol It's still not the continent's fastest coaster.

"Considering the physics, it should come as no surprise that the world's tallest giga-coaster will also be among the fastest. Riders will drop at a precarious 81-degree angle and reach a blistering speed of around 95 mph. I am paraphrasing Carowinds when I say "around 95 mph." Apparently the park is equivocating until the ride is built, and it can take accurate measurements.

Not so Fast, Carowinds
The actual speed will be important. Whether it will be plus or minus an mph or two won't really matter to the passengers who will feel the ride's fury regardless. But Carowinds is also hyping the ride as the world's fastest giga-coaster. That's where things get a bit dicey.

Steel Dragon 2000, a Japanese coaster that uses a lift hill and climbs 318 feet, also reaches 95 mph. So what's with the "world's fastest" brag?

Carowinds may be hedging its bets and hoping that "around" 95 mph actually ends up being faster than 95 mph. Also, the park's parent company, Cedar Fair, coined the term, "giga-coaster," when it introduced the 310-foot Millennium Force at Cedar Point. It refers to full-circuit coasters that break the 300-foot threshold. Besides coining the term, Cedar Fair may have trademarked it. Since the park in Japan where Steel Dragon 2000 is located is not part of the Cedar Fair chain, it may not legally be able to refer to its ride as a "giga-coaster." Ipso facto: Fury will be the world's fastest giga-coaster."

Steel Dragon has a first drop of 'only' 306.8 feet. We do not know how long Fury's drop is going to be, but Carowinds certainly does. I don't think there is hedging here. I think they are saving some marketing ammo.
