Are [s]we[/s] you guys still upset about the white railings or the fact that the parking lot is staying under the coaster...oops :shh:  . Its easier to get track pictures walking on asphalt than grass...

I quite like the white railings and catwalks. I think it looks really great, and from a distance it will make for an impressive skyline. It is something different that is not seen on most B&M coasters, also it will be different for the park in general. So a good thumbs up to that.
Now, about the parking lot deal... I think that the park will eventually remove the asphalt there and enclose the area in a fence. But that's just my two cents.

Okay, fine by me^^
I personally don't care about the parking lot. But would it look better if removed? Yes. If not, oh well. We're still getting a giga coaster. That's all that needs to be said... we're getting a giga (I'm captain obvious). We really shouldn't need to worry about the little details. I'm just happy that the station will have a cool shape and overall design. I like the geometric shapes in the design. I wonder how the light package will be for the lift hill and coaster plaza area.

What is all the talk about part of the coaster over the parking lot? Looking at the last overhead construction pic and where the footers are already are there is not even room for a parking lot....don't worry it ain't gonna happen!

It isn't possible to get anything else on foot, but it looks like all the footers are in place up front, and there is the beginning of a trench for whatever is in store for “below”. Last update from me from inside the park, unless someone invites one of us in during the off-season *hint*. I’ll try to do some drive-bys, but the rest is up to staff, those that live/work nearby, or from the air..

Carowinds is now closed for the off season. This season has seen several changes and I am happy that more changes are coming for next season.
Wormy, thanks for the pictures. I saw the pictures of the station and I just... I just can't even. I love architecture and this station seems like it will have an interesting design and layout, not to mention a gift shop underneath. I just hope that the coaster plaza will have more pzazz than what it did in the animation. But like I said several pages ago, the animation was not final, in regards to the buildings and such.
I can't wait to see what is in store this winter.
By the way, this winter may be horrible, but let's hope not.

As I stated in the past my daughter is in her first year at the Art Institute at Charlotte so since we live an hour away I have to stay nearby on Saturday so I do not do all of that driving; I will be in the area near the park every Saturday until Dec. 20th from 8 am until 11 am ......hint....hint, I plan on taking pics from Wendy's or the median but I will also take an invite if it is offered.

And from the looks of things earlier today, the parking lot is all torn up, especially near the footers. If they did not remove the remaining asphalt and plant grass, the front of the park would look like a war zone.
