It’s quite tall. Fury is set in the back of the park, which makes it difficult to find a vantage to shoot from legally. I’ve scouted, as have others it seems. The tree-line shots you see for now are not far from that smokestack (you know, the one the thing you look for in the webcam to gauge if your live feed is active  ) which is a Frito-Lay plant when they’re cooking. Smells pretty bad back there, makes me want to give up chips.

^Nah, I think they'll finish that support, but I don't think the lift will be completed today. It's weird that they're working on a Sunday. They've had a crazy schedule this week.

Whats also weird is that this is going in the other way than Leviathan. I went back and studied its construction closely, and they put up the first drop track first and then the supports. They also got up the whole section of track and drop in a day as well, so we could possibly be seeing some first drop action today, but definitely tomorrow/later this week. Topping off also took one day but it was a full day, starting really early in the morning and ending late. They put up the one straight section and the crest pieces, and one piece from the top of the drop structure, leaving the last piece to be put in right after where the chain ends, off center from the top

And in regards to how tall it looks, I have to agree that right now it does look shorter compared to how tall I thought it was going to look. I don't know if its the fact that it is so far away, or that it only takes three supports on the straight bit while Intimidator and Leviathan take four and my minds trying to relate them somehow, or that apparently that support is only 220 feet tall when I thought it was going to be somewhere around 270, or what. I just know that it is going to have a 320 foot drop and thats all I really need to know ;)

Edit: Webcam direct links for ^, I just bookmarked them lol.

Guys, check out the cams. Mosley is already hard at work installing the next pieces of the drop.
I think (if all goes well) that by Wednesday, Fury will be topped off.

Led Zepplin ran paralell to the airport, and was as tall as it was allowed to be.

Seems like I read somewhere that Zepplin was 11 inches under the maximum clearance allowed by the FAA. It is in a direct line with the runway and only one mile from the perimeter fence. That said, if a plane has to begin worrying about Zepplin being in the way, its got a LOT more problems than the coaster. Carowinds is about 5 miles from the perimeter fence. I would feel sure that the maximum height of any object on the ground is much higher than Carowinds would ever build. Then again, 30 years ago, I would have said people were crazy for thinking they could build a coaster over 300 feet tall.
