Looks like there is one more drop piece.
I think they'll put it on the two they've done so far at ground level and lift the whole shebang tomorrow morning.
With a ceremony, a flag on it, possible a camera on it and all that.

I just received official confirmation from the park that the topping off ceremony scheduled for tomorrow has been delayed. They are aiming for Thursday now but that could change, no further details at this time. I will let everyone know once I know what is going to occur from here!

I don't know if they can lift all three pieces at the same time unless they use two cranes to do it? The difference here compared to Leviathan are the three tall cranes. I guess two cranes could lift the section while the 3rd lift the bucket. But it still seen very unlikely to me they would do it this way. :?:

I think the Clifford next to big bird will lift that first piece of drop track up, then leave it, then Big Bird will lift the straight piece attached to the crown piece of the track and the lift will be topped.

To add if the topping off does happen on Thu, I will be on site to watch as it all comes together. In the mean time no official word from the park directly about it other than myself here.

WCNC said on the 6pm news the top off would be tomorrow. But maybe they have not received the update. But their tower cam on Billy Graham Pkwy. has an excellent view of Carowinds, including Intimidator and now Fury. Maybe they will zoom in and film it. They sometimes show the Carowinds view during the weather report.

I got the same mass email you got. Here it is for those who care...

I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but we just learned this event will actually be delayed. It will probably happen Thursday. I will keep you posted ASAP.

Thanks,

Subject: Carowinds to Top-Off Record-Breaking Roller Coaster on Wednesday, Transforming the I-77 Skyline

Hello-

I wanted to make sure you saw the attached press advisory about an event happening Wednesday morning at Carowinds. Crews will install the final piece of the 325-foot lift hill on the new Fury 325 – the world’s tallest and fastest giga coaster.

Reporters are invited to hear an update and capture incredible visuals of the project, which stands 20-feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. Afterward, crews will plant a Christmas tree on top, with the biggest holiday present for the Carolinas underneath.

The attached advisory has all the details, but please let me know if there’s anything additional I can send.

Thanks,

The Christmas tree is actually a ironworker tradition. I've seen it a few times for different buildings.
