This has puzzled me from day one. Where is this "double" helix? To me, double implies 2 full circles, 360º. I see the 180º helix but not a 360º (unless they are counting the shadow, lol). Is this a B&M term I am not familiar with? Can someone give me a clue?

Think back to RCT. When building a coaster, one helix is only half a circle. So I'm guessing that this is technically a double helix, because it is two helixes in one.

OFF TOPIC - I thought these pictures looked awfully familiar and thought someone jacked my roommates photos off the web. Then I realized this is my roommate. Didn't even know he was a member on here until now. Boy is my face red.

P.S. - the dog and I are sleeping in your bed while you're in Baltimore this weekend.

Me too! I keep hearing things like that from park officials - Fury 325 and all the 2015 changes are just the beginning. They won't say anything else but that's good enough for me.

Well if their plans are to be the Cedar Point of the Southeast, then I hope it means more big rollercoasters, some big flat rides, and a resort hotel. But we shall see.

Fury looks HUGE. Can't wait to see it in person. So happy Carowinds has this. I don't think the Paladium is going anywhere either, and it doesn't really need to because it's not in the way.

Well, I made the hour and a half drive today to come down and see our crown jewel myself. There are no words to describe the excitement of seeing Fury in person! Here are some pictures I took.

They've already gotten busy on the 'barrel turn.'

At 95 miles per hour, the train will cover the distance of this flat space in a split second.

I've been reading some of the GP's comments on Facebook saying that Fury doesn't seem much taller than Intimidator. From this view, they're right, but it's all a matter of perspective. I'll show you what I mean a few pictures down.

After some shopping, I decided to swing back by the park to see the Christmas Tree...

And here is where I stress that the height is all a matter of perspective. I wish I had went here during the day to take a picture so it would be clearer, but as you can see, Fury absolutely TOWERS over the rest of the park!

I am so excited for, not only this coaster, but also for what Carowinds is on its way to becoming. Its fantastic to watch my home park grow right before my very eyes. Great work Carowinds, Mosley and everyone else involved!

Thanks for driving that distance to take more pics! I swear, I can imagine what it looks like in person. I'll bet SFoG is seething right now. Unfortunately, I think they have a height limit. Still, I love both parks..

For those who haven't noticed yet, they added another piece of track to the puzzle.

An in the animation, it banks to the right, then the left. In reality, it looks more like Leviathan's first over bank with that track going up at a straight angle and then banking to the right instead of the left first.

What you see in the animation is spot on. The guy that does them for the parks has a set of plans and all of the specs for the coaster(s) so that they are a perfect match.
