General Carowinds discussion

Not to change the subject but I'm going to make a detour on my way to the ACC championship game and I'd like to know the best place to get a view of Fury without breaking any laws or doing something unsavory to the park?

You can go to the new drop off area without any problems.

Here's a basic Idea of what this view would look like (Yeah, It's crappily done, but oh well)

Just think, when driving by this part, that area won't look so empty now.

Drove to Charlotte today from Greenville, SC. The view of Fury is quite striking driving down I-77 South as soon as you approach Nations Ford Rd. It dominates the Carowinds skyline, and towers over Intimidator, Windseeker, and the Skytower. And it can clearly be seen along parts of Carowinds Blvd, South Tryon St, and Westinghouse Blvd. I turned off of South Tryon onto Nevada Blvd. which winds its way past the Frito-Lay plant and back to Westinghouse. Some great views if you want to take a picture. But unfortunately I did not have a camera. And it can also be clearly seen from Carolina Place Mall between Belk and Macy's as it rises above the trees. This coaster will be huge once it is completed.

For the folks who are coming to see Fury 325, there are three places to get a good view.

Go South on 77 from Nations Ford Road (exit 3) for a good view of the skyline.
The new drop off lot, between Cabelas and Intimidator, offers a good view of Fury in perspective with the other rides.
Drive down Carowinds Blvd past Thunder Road and turn right towards the campground. Stop near the campground for a good view of the lift hill and drop (be polite and don't go past the security office)

By the way, I want to give a quick shout out to Carowinds for allowing us to go to the new drop off lot and get a decent view of Fury 325. They certainly don't have to do that and could request that nobody go there.

I also appreciate everybody who is getting pictures and providing us updates without trespassing.
