The footers for the "under the bridge" area have been formed with batter boards, but I'm not sure if they've been poured or not as of yet. I don't know how they will do it, but it seems to make the most sense to me that once they get to the existing section of track behind those trees that they would start working from the brake run back around to the entrance. Two reasons why I say this:

1) The cranes are already in that area. Why move them all the way to the front of the park and then have to bring them back at the end to finish up? I mean, BB is already at that location anyway.

2) They still have a lot to do on the entrance area. Yes, the area around Fury 325 looks to be graded and ready but if they start putting in low track at the cross over points, they are limiting themselves to what equipment can be brought up to the entrance area.

Totally agree but I am not the contractor. They are moving pretty quickly in the front gate area this morning. :D

If they don't get the track up, they are also limiting work that can be done on the entrance too. They want to make sure the heavy equipment work is finished before they do final grading and concrete work. I think we'll see the track still fallow the sequential pattern.

In terms of location, does Fury pass in front of or behind the site of the Plantation House? Just wondering what the logistics would be if the Plantation House had been saved.

Would have been on the parking lot side of the Plantation House... by a good ways.

I agree. The coaster has to be in place before they can pave and set pavers. Agreed there is a lot of work to be done. But here is a question. If it takes 30 days for the footers to cure, and they are only now doing the ones under the bridge...? We are talking about mid Jan. before that section of the coaster can be done. Maybe they will skip over that small tunnel section and come back to it later?

Overlay would be great. In lieu of that, If you're familiar with the way the park used to be, the coaster will be out where the old main gate for the cars was.

I love looking at how much it has/will change.
That is why when I finish my current model, I will make a model of the new entrance for comparison.
I wonder how our skyline looks now?

I looked through the front gate siteplan PDFs, but does anybody know if the architectural drawings are available?

The scope of this project is staggering, and I want to thank Carowinds and CF for making the investment and doing it right. One summer my son and I went to Six Flags Great Adventure and DorneyPark, and the difference was astounding. Dorney is a beautiful, lushly landscaped park, and if Mike was responsible for any of that then I'm sure glad he's here.

From what I can tell by comparing the layout plans on the pdf files and that which we see in the animation, I think that the architecture will be of a more contemporary design like what Cedar Point got. Which is a little heartbreaking in a way. I am hoping that the architecture will take us back to the old Carolina times like the Plantation House did.
