Which is a little heartbreaking in a way. I am hoping that the architecture will take us back to the old Carolina times like the Plantation House did.

Well that does not appear to be happening, as the new design is much more modern and contemporary than the old Plantation House. And it will have a much more open feel. I just hope they can add water fountains and trees.

If they don't get the track up, they are also limiting work that can be done on the entrance too. They want to make sure the heavy equipment work is finished before they do final grading and concrete work. I think we'll see the track still fallow the sequential pattern.

I agree. The coaster has to be in place before they can pave and set pavers. Agreed there is a lot of work to be done. But here is a question. If it takes 30 days for the footers to cure, and they are only now doing the ones under the bridge...? We are talking about mid Jan. before that section of the coaster can be done. Maybe they will skip over that small tunnel section and come back to it later?

I am also wondering how they are gonna do this?

Are we sure those footers aren't already poured? It was already stated by the park that all footers were already poured.

They just dug the hole to the correct depth this week so they couldn't have possibly poured them yet. You can see in the pic (from the webcam) where the wooden frames are framing them off. You can see them better in the morning/early afternoon...

They still had equipment digging the hole the first of this week so the footers at the bottom could not have been poured yet. It probably wont take them long to cure since they're right on the ground and dont have to be a mile deep to support the track.

Wormy, really nice photos! The first one with Fury 325 and Intimidator is the best photo I've seen that gives a true indication as to how big this coaster truly is and how fantastic the two B&Ms look together. B&M coasters are truly works of art!

^^Thanks! Nothing fancy. Camera stats should be on the Flickr page for whatever I have on me at the time (I don’t like to carry crap around my neck).

But while almost on the subject as a PSA..

Question about the drop on fury and intimdator:

So, fury is 325' tall and when you drop on the first drop, you're getting almost all of the 325' because it is basically ground level. But intimidator is 237' tall, yet the drop itself is 211' I think, or something close to that. Does anyone know what the actual drop is in feet on fury? Even though Fury is not 100 feet taller than intimidator, I'm thinking the actual drop on fury will be 100 feet or more than the drop on intimidator.......am I wrong?
