Thank goodness everyone doesn't think alike. I'd hate to see how ugly this world would look like if everything (architecture, cars, etc.) was torn down that was over twenty years old and replaced by something new.

Feel free to live in that version of a world :D

True. There's a difference between old and outdated. Love to visit Charleston for that very reason. I'm sure every old mansion around the battery in Charleston has phone, cable (or sat), and probably even wifi. That said, I didn't have any reason to keep the plantation house there.. (esp. since it wasn't a real house with a park built around it. Now THAT would have been something to keep.) I kinda wouldn't have minded the new entrance to have a plantation house theme.

I wonder why MF and I305 by Intimain do the super fast lift, while B&M does not?........I can't decide in my mind which I would prefer for a giga - the slower typical lift or the fast lift. I know on MF, it's so fast, you almost don't have time to freak out before you're at the top..

Intamin = Cable Lift and B&M = Chain lift.

For those long lifts, i guess cost would be the biggest reason why not to use magnets. I think it would be far more efficient though... and probably increase capacity because of the faster lift-time. We'll all be asleep by the time we get to the top of Fury.

That was my thought as well. The chain lift is slower than the cable lift - because of weight?

Edit: by the way, what I said was kind of stupid in light of how Axel brought it up because I don't agree with how the edited version of my rant looked because I like history and culture too. Thanks for noting that.

According to wiki... Cable lifts require less maintenance, and are fairly quiet compared to the loud, clanking chain lift. Cable lifts can be used at a higher degree of incline as well.

No matter the reason, I like being able to view the world from that height. And when riding Fury, we'll have about 65 seconds to look around before plunging to the ground.Kudos to B&M for a slow/semi-fast chain lift. I really appreciate being able to have the time to look at everything.

I agree with Amos, when riding Millenium Force I loved the quick lift. However, I would have preferred to have more time to look around at Lake Erie and Canada in the distance.

That dirt could be used to fill in some of the remaining ponds inside the park!

When do you guys think the next load of track from Clermont might arrive?

There seems to be a lot out there in the parking lot. It looks like about 40 or so pieces to me. They look really short sitting out there but when they are brought closer, they are pretty long.

Since I have never experienced a B&M Giga to compare to an Intamin Giga, I think of Millenium and magnum. Millenumi is super fun and the lift starts the ride very quickly. On magnum, it takes about a minute or so to reachthe top, the same as Fury. To me, magnum always felt and looked taller from up there because of how long it took to reach the top, and riding up magnum was always much scarier for me then Millenium because it seems like you go on forever. I'll probably be scared to death by the time I get to the top of fury, but the views will be spectacular. Any whom, I think the ride will seem much taller than it really is due to the nature of the lift, at least for me anyways. And I'd prefer it that way.

They are now grading around the footers at the front of the park, so I think it is safe to assume they are going that way. Here's a joke for a Friday afternoon, how many men and days does it take to build a bathroom? At this rate we all will be peeing in the woods, renewing our gold passes in a tent, and parking on a gravel lot on opening day. But Fury will be open. :D

I thought they were making great time on the bathroom and front entrance. Especially when you consider the amount of plumbing, grading and other work that needs to be done.

Back to Fury, I'm hoping they will post a pic up the drop hill out of that barrel turn. That is going to be intense at the high speeds.
